View Full Version : RX-8 vs. '95 N/A Supra Astor 02-14-2004, 03:39 AM Not really, my best friend came over, thought I'd share the pics, Sorry about the lighting, every day is grey here from December through March. Speed-ER doc 02-14-2004, 03:45 AM nice pic. (hey I gotta keep my post count up somehow) :) mental pimp 02-14-2004, 09:00 AM Ur never gonna catch up to me, hey nice supra! and your 8! XDEEDUBBX 02-14-2004, 01:32 PM let alone catch up to me...nice supra btw...have you guys raced each other yet?? whi's faster? Astor 02-14-2004, 01:50 PM The 8 is faster, the Supra is a N/A automatic. He plans to put a turbo in but it happens to have the same prob as the 8, 10:1 compression, so it will take some money. He claims he will give that Supra to his girlfriend and is going to buy a TT Supra, so I claim to him when he does I'll buy a FD. The Supra has more torque, so at takeoff it feels faster (I've driven it several times) but the 8 out accelerates it. Get a lot of looks driving around together. Astor 02-14-2004, 01:52 PM Also the Supra is longer than the 8, for that we were both suprised, and I guess the Supra must not be a sports car either (peppered with sarcasm) because it has a full backseat too. XDEEDUBBX 02-14-2004, 02:13 PM haha it does have a backseat...tell the guys over at the supraforums that it isn't a sports car..im sure they will welcome you with open arms..haha JeRKy 8 Owner 02-14-2004, 05:05 PM I used to think Supras werereally beautiful cars until the last two years when all these post-modern looking cars were released. For its time though the late Supra really looked great. Butwhen you look at it up here in thispic now next to an Rx8 it really does reek of the 90s. Astor 02-14-2004, 05:49 PM The Supra forums are like AOL chatrooms, 14 & 15 y/o boys saying they're 20 something's, and claiming something that is not true. Astor 02-14-2004, 05:52 PM Another Astor 02-14-2004, 06:12 PM And another sup3rbad 02-14-2004, 06:31 PM Lately I've been looking at Supras and I have to say they are growing on me. mikeb 02-14-2004, 06:32 PM damn that exhaust is HUGE Astor 02-14-2004, 06:33 PM I think the exhaust is an apex, makes the stock 8's look tiny. I think I'm going with the GReddy. The Red One 02-14-2004, 06:47 PM Sweet! rx-7~rx-8 02-14-2004, 07:45 PM My friend also has a Supra N/A Automatic .. it s 93... same design... every year supra was the same... besides 97-98.. it had VVt-i... I drove it many times... it feels fast.. but really isn't. Can haul to 0-60 in 7.2-7.9... On the freeway its pretty quick though... Astor 02-14-2004, 08:20 PM His Supra is faster than most cars around here anyway, lots of rice here and there, usually no engine mods though. The Supra still feels stable at higher speeds compared to a lot of cars. rx-7~rx-8 02-14-2004, 11:47 PM One of the think i like about the supra is it doesn't feel heavy.. even though it is... 3450 lbs. Thats why its so stable at high speeds... me and my friend did 130 mph.. in it... its feels pretty stable... but not as stable as RX- 8... Dookie_Rx-8 02-17-2004, 01:01 AM i didnt know the supra auto was faster than a 8...wow learn something new everyday BRx8 02-17-2004, 05:10 AM IMO, the Supra is the one car i can't see too riced out...although i'm sure there are some that are overly done, i've personally never seen it...no matter what you do to it, it still looks amazing at any angle...i love those cars but unfortunately couldn't afford even a used one so i settled on the 3000GT...later when i could finally afford one, the RX-8 came out...i guess it was never really meant to be Originally posted by Dookie_Rx-8 i didnt know the supra auto was faster than a 8...wow learn something new everyday it's not...reread... Astor 02-17-2004, 09:32 AM Originally posted by Dookie_Rx-8 i didnt know the supra auto was faster than a 8...wow learn something new everyday It's not, I don't know where you picked that up. Kushballah 02-17-2004, 11:20 PM verryy cool pics man... good to know we're faster than the auto n/a lol... how bout the manual? anyone know? Astor 02-18-2004, 12:52 AM I think it depends whether or not it has the twin turbos rx-7~rx-8 02-20-2004, 05:20 PM RX-8 n/a is faster supra n/a.. manual or auto... mikeb 02-20-2004, 07:11 PM auto supra/ manual rx8 Astor 02-21-2004, 01:38 PM Mike got it right, that is until he collects about $10,000.00 then he plans to put in a new transmission & turbos, then it will be about 425 RWHP rx-7~rx-8 02-22-2004, 12:17 AM pop a 3-rotor in your rx-8 and twin turbos... 800 hp... 800 HP RX-8 = 1000 Toyota Supra... i rather have less weight and more power... then more wieght and more power CjsfastSS 02-22-2004, 02:52 AM Just go to acostamotorsports.com and buy their 20b 3 rotary motorswap if you can afford it. It's only 41,000, but over 800 WHP. Now talk about a fast RX-8, man that's SWEET, 800 horsssssseeeeeeeeeppppppppppoooooooooowwwwwwwweeee eeerrrrrrrrr. Oh sorry, just thinking about 800 hp Astor 02-22-2004, 11:22 AM Does anyone know of any videos of the Acosta RX-8 Actually I give the 8 a couple of years of trial and error for aftermarket performance, if they can build a focus with a v8 with over 400 lb tq with an 11.0:1 compression ratio, they can figure out how to safely put turbos in the 8. Squidward 02-26-2004, 06:16 AM I've always liked Supras too.. Too bad they're discontinued.. who knows maybe they'll come out with a revised version in the future... |
