We're looking at 12hp over stock as stated in the RX8Store Vender Section.
JASRX-8 02-11-2004, 05:28 PM how come it says '0 mph' when you did the run? looks like a real nice gain. is that your car? if so, did you hav the canzoomer installed when you did it? so if i had a stock rx-8 and put that exhauston, i wold get 12 hp? thats insane!
ranger4277 02-11-2004, 09:53 PM Thanks Success07! Are you planning on going to rotary revolution 04 to show off the pride of columbus? :)

It reads '0 mph' because the rear sensors have been disconnected so that we didn't go into limp mode which so often happens with this car. It is my 8 and at that point in time I did not have the CZ Stage 1 installed. I will head back over to the RX8Store soon to have runs done with both the Stage 1 and the new exhaust. If you were to put this exhaust on your 8 you should see/ feel an increase of 12hp.

I am definitely heading over to the Rotary Revolution. I think that it'll be a blast seeing all the different rotary powered cars and meeting folks from this forum. It's nice to put faces with names. It makes all this that much more fun to be a part of! :D
Are you heading over? You are more than welcome dash from Columbus with myself and the folks from the RX8Store. (I'm assuming that they'll be going)
brothervoodoo 02-11-2004, 11:51 PM Great video's success07!

Yep, I'm going. I'm on the way, I'd be happy to meet up with you someplace off of 70 here near Dayton. Sounds like it is going to be a great time. (I'm not just talking about the sound of your exhaust either) :D
Japan8 02-12-2004, 10:38 AM I guess the first question is, have you heard the Borla and/or B&B exhaust in person? If so, how does the sound compare to you RX-8 Store cat-back? Louder? Deeper?
success07 02-12-2004, 11:05 AM Japan8 - I haven't heard the other exhausts in person. Though from the sound clips it's apparent to me that the RX8Store Exhaust is the deepest of those three. Our sound clip is pretty accurate so I would assume the others are as well, hence my opinion on sound. Loudness is open for interpretation. The RX8Store Exhaust also carriess two stainless steel Magnaflow mufflers (underside pics available if you do search) instead of the larger single muffler from the two others. Weight savings do to that factor? I don't know.
10000RPM 02-13-2004, 11:34 AM I just finished installing the RX-8 stores exhaust along with the K&N intake. Let me just say that there is a night & day difference in the sound it made before and after. It's not real buzzy like a four banger "fart cannon" , I was kinda worried it may have turned out like that but I couldn't have been more wrong. It sounds awsome :D at about 4K you realy start to hear it begain to wind up with that great raspy rotary sound. I have had now problems such as ruff idle or rattles. It seems to have a little more pep than it had before ,maybe between 15-18HP boost over stock. If you want your RX-8 to have more of a "sports car "sound I would highly recommend this set up.
madsenj37 02-14-2004, 07:37 PM It sounds like a jet engine taking off. I love it. That is one lovely sound. Congrats are in order.
Zoom49 02-14-2004, 08:41 PM Ordered my RX-8 store exhaust this week. Was hoping it would be here, for an install this weekend but no such luck. Will have to wait till next Saturday to enjoy the sounds:D
JASRX-8 02-16-2004, 05:44 PM is this street legal? does this remove the cat? and will i have to disconnect it when i get the exhaust or what disconnecting it only for the purpose of the dyno? thanks
alphapenguin 02-16-2004, 05:59 PM the 12 hp gain, is that compared to stock, or is that compared to a stock exhaust vs RX8store exhaust. I ask because I know you have the stage 1 ecu mod. Since the snow is gone, i think i will drop by for that stock dyno sometime. Let me know if you want to go success07.
mmmdowning 02-18-2004, 10:37 AM Good job thanks for the sound bites.

The exhaust is street legal and the cat is still in place. There is nothing to disconnect other than the stock exhaust itself. We only disconnected the sensors in the rear for the purpose of dyno runs. Hope this helps :)
Dustin4u 02-20-2004, 06:21 PM thanks, how about a pic from under the car please? thanks a lot
success07 02-20-2004, 11:03 PM Dustin - The under car pics are attached in the thread below. Enjoy!!

Still have any of these videos?
mtnpass 12-07-2004, 07:07 PM I second that, the links are broken...any help in rehosting?
mysql101 12-07-2004, 07:17 PM I'm pessimistic that 12 hp gains can be made with just a catback on the RX-8. A straight pipe and removal of the cat itself barely does half that.
Jason 12-08-2004, 03:28 PM Sorry, I dont have those videos. Success was the one hosting and not sure if he has them.

success07 12-09-2004, 11:38 AM RX8Freek had hosted them for me for a short time and then one day they disappeared. I may still have them lying around but I have no way of hosting them. I still need to get back over to the shop and do runs with the CZ 1.1 also but just haven't been able to find the time.
