Thats not dumb... Its lazy. He does all that work pullin on the hose, when he could just drive around to the other side. Ok, so he is dumb... and lazy.

Wonder if he'll sue the gas staion for the hose being too short.

It’s a new technique; his is trying to set a new record on how fast he can fill his tank. You know, shortest distance between two points is a straight line. LOL

na, it's so that all that remaining gas in the hose drains down into the tank when he's done. Quite smart actually. I think I'll start using this technique.

RotaryStalker And just think what he'd do if he were getting the kind of mileage we are getting ;) He'd probably drive around from pump to pump squeezing every last bit of gas out of the lines.

Heating up the hose with a lighter helps to stretch it.

I've ended up with the filler door on the "wrong" side when driving someone else's vehicle. Then you get out and see where it is -- if it's the "wrong" side you see if the hose will reach. Sometimes it's obvious, sometimes not. Sometimes it just makes it. Not particularly dumb, imo. It would be smarter for pump design to be able to accomodate the situation. Some pumps do a better job of it than others.

I wish automakers could standardize which side the filler door goes on. It's often awkward at a large filling station with cars pointed in opposite directions trying to get in and out. Stupid right-side filler-door people! :p

I totally agree with you, nubo.. Some gas stations are in such a jam because of this stupid problem.. see people pointing in all different directions just to get gas and block others from entering or leaving..

Someone should post this pic in the Honda forum and make fun of them.
