View Full Version : Double Tree pissed? JAMinRX8 09-19-2010, 10:53 PM Who thinks the Double Tree will forgive us for this past weekends mayhem after Sevenstock XIII? zoom44 09-19-2010, 11:26 PM I heard some complaints from a guest this morning about problems with the hot tub. she couldn't get to it Saturday night. tried it sunday morning but it was broken. that might cause some problems. mike[piston eater] 09-19-2010, 11:30 PM I want a full recap lol prolly wont happen though lol gregs 09-19-2010, 11:32 PM yeah what happened? ZumnRx8 09-19-2010, 11:33 PM :) what happened???? mike[piston eater] 09-19-2010, 11:35 PM Mm told me a lil it was lol material maxxdamigz 09-20-2010, 12:07 AM Did Todd puke in the pool? 13x 09-20-2010, 12:13 AM When I went down for breakfast the pool area was closed with a sign that something like this " the pool is closed due to quests breaking furniture in the pool" from what I could see they drained the pool, thats never a good sign maxxdamigz 09-20-2010, 12:25 AM Man, I'm glad I left stone sober at 9 pm. 13x 09-20-2010, 12:37 AM http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac205/13x_photos/SS13HotelDamage.jpg VashGS 09-20-2010, 12:38 AM lolerz Crime Scene tape. Hot Tub Time Machine, RX edition. Gr8Bullet 09-20-2010, 01:00 AM  nycgps 09-20-2010, 02:04 AM LOL ~ Yesterday when I was downstairs at the pool. when they push that cart of beer out I sense something WILL happen. so I just gtfo of there as fast as I can LOL. guess I was right. hahahaha Charles R. Hill 09-20-2010, 03:00 AM Please explain how any of this is funny? zoom44 09-20-2010, 07:56 AM how was nycgps there when the cart rolled out and i didnt know? i was looking for you all day and no one introduces us at that point? oh, its not funny Ray. maxxdamigz 09-20-2010, 09:37 AM Losing essentially a sponsor of Sevenstock (aka any hotel willing to put up with a large group that has become disruptive) would be a shame. Free booze was a really bad accelerent for this situation. Next year, if you can't go back to the Double Tree, you may have to explain to a new hotel why after X years, you're looking to move where a ton of people stay. VashGS 09-20-2010, 09:58 AM Oh yea whoever did it should be in trouble, pay up and be banned from the event & motel. But if it was just a few then the whole group banned now. In this economy can they afford to ban a large group? Razz1 09-20-2010, 11:10 AM Anything can happen with any group. You would be dumb to turn down business. time for security to patrol the area with these hooligans around. mike[piston eater] 09-20-2010, 11:11 AM +1 with razz Atilla 09-20-2010, 11:15 AM wow...... maxxdamigz 09-20-2010, 11:27 AM Anything can happen with any group. You would be dumb to turn down business. time for security to patrol the area with these hooligans around. This is absolutely the wrong approach to take. As a member of a car enthusiast group that was banned from a hotel in Myrtle Beach for similar antics, they most certainly can refuse the business. If this is the first incident, who knows what the odds are but never refute the possibility. If you're a "classy" hotel which hosts occasional business seminars - pretty sure there was one there Friday - the black eye of being a "spring break" scene and the associated headaches of having to drain your pool aren't worth it. Maybe they make a few bucks off us but I'm sure they have some semblance of dignity. Also, the antics cost them future business from other customers. The odds of them getting security rather than banning us are pretty much 0. Ultimately, it's a matter of respect. We should police our own. I didn't stay at the DT and I left well before this all happened, but I feel ashamed for it. Things like this lessen my desire to go to Sevenstock again and/or reinforce any desire to not stay at the main hotel. Phil's 8 09-20-2010, 12:38 PM I would hope that Hilton would look at all the previous years of no trouble before deciding. I find it hard to believe that any of us would be laughing and joking about this. Someone could have been seriously injured. Kane 09-20-2010, 12:43 PM WTF happened? MazdaManiac 09-20-2010, 01:05 PM Someone chucked a glass cocktail table into the pool which shattered at the bottom. This led to the hotel draining the pool, cordoning off the area and creating a whole CSI scene out of it. Every year there is some stupid behavior, almost exclusively at the hands of the younger RX-7 crowd. This isn't the first year (previous year's festivities led to lots 'o furniture in the pool, various liquids in the hot tub and burnouts in and on the parking structure). Most of the kids I had the pleasure of talking with pool-side on Friday and Saturday night thought it was hilarious. I don't know what the DoubleTree's reaction will be, but I doubt the total cost of the clean-up will put much of a dent in the profit for the weekend. I could be wrong. I do know that the majority of the folks that were reveling up to the 11pm mark when most of us turned-in did a great job of cleaning up afterward, so I don't think there was much "accellerant" available. There was a major resurgence of noise around 2am, so a different bunch was probably rolling into the pool area after it was supposed to be closed to guests. Phil's 8 09-20-2010, 01:14 PM I was not there to see who did what but the end result was the pool furniture in the pool along with the broken glass table tops and broken glass bottles and glass cups in both the pool and the spa pool. Some were booze got introduced into it. Earlier in the evening the pool area was a popular watering hole for all of us. Some ether can't handle their drink and / or have no respect of the property of others. I understand that the majority of the over 30 peeps had already retired before the debacle got started. zoom44 09-20-2010, 01:20 PM I know when E and I rolled thru at 11ish I think it was there was just a few people and no broken anything yet everyone we knew except a person or 2 was already gone so it was back to the room. I was quite surprised to hear/see it when i was up and waiting for the shuttle mike[piston eater] 09-20-2010, 01:46 PM wow damn hooligans zoom44 09-20-2010, 02:17 PM If anyone knows anything about this or who was involved pm me. MTspeeds1 09-20-2010, 02:31 PM sounds like uncontrolable douches give clubs like this a bad name. Red_Fox 09-20-2010, 02:39 PM damn....:icon_no2: Flashwing 09-20-2010, 05:43 PM Did Todd puke in the pool? Contrary to popular belief, I'm capable of controlling myself in situations that have the reputation of the rotary community at stake. I had maybe 3 drinks and left as sober as I showed up at about 10 pm. LOL ~ Yesterday when I was downstairs at the pool. when they push that cart of beer out I sense something WILL happen. so I just gtfo of there as fast as I can LOL. guess I was right. hahahaha Totally incorrect. The vast majority of those people that were hanging out were from Arizona. I happen to know first hand that all the AZ rotary people are guests of pure class. I had a huge party at my apartment in July and woke up from a night of fun to find my dishes done, living and dining room cleaned up and everything back where it was. We might get rowdy but we certainly don't trash the place. I have no doubt that a fair amount of cleanup took place at the end of the night. Please explain how any of this is funny? You're right it's not. It's even less funny when the wrong people are blamed. I do know there was some kind of drunken "happy birthday" singing coming from the hot tub around 2 am. I doubt anyone in our group was out there that late. Either way, the responsible party isn't going to come forward and the Double Tree will blame the Sevenstock crowd whether it was someone associated with the event or not. mike[piston eater] 09-20-2010, 06:34 PM sad sad day :[ zoom44 09-20-2010, 06:47 PM well there are security cameras.... maxxdamigz 09-20-2010, 09:48 PM Contrary to popular belief, I'm capable of controlling myself in situations that have the reputation of the rotary community at stake. I had maybe 3 drinks and left as sober as I showed up at about 10 pm. That was a joke. You don't generally get glass in the pool that way. MTspeeds1 09-20-2010, 11:09 PM well there are security cameras.... just out of curiosity...what would happen to the people that did this crap? zoom44 09-20-2010, 11:32 PM hopefully they'd have to pay up for the damages. Galen Darkmoon 09-20-2010, 11:40 PM LOL Hilarious DrKillJoY 09-20-2010, 11:43 PM The potential end of one of the most cherished events within our community isn't hilarious. C'mon guys, show some concern here... this isn't a funny situation. WTBRotary! 09-20-2010, 11:50 PM Yeah I left before any of this happened... I had no idea this happened... this amazes me... wow. Im glad I left before this happened... 13x 09-21-2010, 12:05 AM I second that it would not most likely be the AZ bunch as some of them joined us for WHiV and conducted themselves like pros, there were a couple guys from Texas whom have stayed in my home and I would trust to no end, well the guys including myself from the city of sin we were sleeping (lol go figure) I actually wonder if it was someone with our SS group, I am sure we will never know thou anyone have any idea how many ppl attending SS tend to stay at the DT? Phil's 8 09-21-2010, 08:09 AM Even if it was part of the Seven Stock group or not is a mute point as we will (most likely) be blamed for it. We are a significant part of their profit margin so they may be willing to give us another chance. Since no one was injured it may a correctable situation. 13x 09-21-2010, 11:38 AM Even if it was part of the Seven Stock group or not is a mute point as we will (most likely) be blamed for it. We are a significant part of their profit margin so they may be willing to give us another chance. Since no one was injured it may a correctable situation. Oh I agree Phil, was just pointing out we may end up pointing the finger at eachother (the ss group) and it may not have been one of us. Ultimately we will need to police our group to a point but at the same time the hotel staff may have been thrown under the bus for not tossing everyone from the pool area at 11 (I think that was the closing time) It's just a bad situation and I am sure the 99% will work towards not having a repeat MTspeeds1 09-21-2010, 11:47 AM pretty ridiculous that these people are adults....sounds more like a drunken frat party Kane 09-21-2010, 11:56 AM Why didn't you guys make Ray bounce at this shin dig.....? You know he would bust some heads! What a shitty way to give the scene a black eye; I know when one of my guys gives my team a PR black eye - it ain't pretty. Phil's 8 09-22-2010, 07:49 AM Why didn't you guys make Ray bounce at this shin dig.....? You know he would bust some heads! What a shitty way to give the scene a black eye; I know when one of my guys gives my team a PR black eye - it ain't pretty. Ray had other interests and was not always part of the group at any location for very long. We are supposed to be adults and to act as responsible adults. All that I saw during my brief stay at the pool were acting as responsible adults. I think all this took place after most retired to their rooms or left for home..... GODFATHER 09-23-2010, 05:03 PM I was out of the area and on the road to hollywood by 10:30 or 11. Whats wierd is that the atmosphere of the area wasn't all that crazy when i left. Everyone was headed to thier rooms for the most part. I never thought that some stupid shit like that would go down... i guess it only takes one idiot to fuck it all up.... and a bunch of other idiots to let it happen.... Pico 09-23-2010, 05:59 PM This is the type of bullshit I can't stand. I wasn't there, but I can just imagine the nonsense going on that night. It's a shame because it affects the community as a whole. The way I see it is that everyone's double tree days are gone. I would also worry about the surrounding hotels hearing about the incident and refusing rotary club members next year. Shit always rolls down hill. Somebody on this board know something----- Man up and let the proper people know who, what, and why this went down. This problem is not going away without a resolve. And to the people involved --- karma's a bitch. Jedi54 09-23-2010, 06:02 PM This... somebody on this board know something----- man up and let the proper people know who, what, and why this went down. This problem is not going away without a resolve. And to the people involved --- karma's a bitch. DrKillJoY 09-23-2010, 06:45 PM I might add that it would be better for anyone who knows something to come forward and resolve it directly with Berny and the SevenStock team as the issue can be resolved with some level of privacy. Having your business all on the interwebz is never a good thing. nycgps 09-23-2010, 08:13 PM well yeah it sucks that some people just don't want to take the responsibility Im surprised there were no security cameras there. DrKillJoY 09-23-2010, 10:05 PM well yeah it sucks that some people just don't want to take the responsibility Im surprised there were no security cameras there. There were. :squint: zoom44 09-24-2010, 02:34 PM oh hey keith! what time did you leave? we said our "see ya next year"s when i walked through right? DrKillJoY 09-24-2010, 08:56 PM I was there pretty late actually; after the crowds were gone we hung out a little while before it was "safe" for us to drive to our hotel (about 7 miles away). |
