Ok folks - pretty simple.

For the past couple of years we've organized some post sevenstock activities(IE. Dyno day last year) and this year a couple of us were thinking about throwing this out there...


Which would you rather do??




Option A: Canyon Run - 18Highway + Alt Route

Approximate Distance: 34 miles from Starting Point

Details: Basically it's the Infamous San Bernardino Cruise. We can either do the 18 Highway straight up or go for The Gusto! and take the back way that's full of twisties n' switchbacks. :rock:



OR...




Option B: Beach Cruise from Mazda HQ down to Claim Jumpers in Long Beach.
Approximate Distance: 34 Miles from Starting Point

Details: Cali all day long. Clean cars, Cool Breeze n' some Grub! Shine your cars n' get ready to cruise the coast line



Post up n' discuss - you down to go? yes? no? why not? - This will be scheduled for the Sunday after Sevenstock 13.

I vote beach cruise.....gotta love chillin with everyone afterward, and I want to take some pretty pictuars! :p:

On Sevenstock day or the next day?

Cause my schedule with my sister seems like it means leaving sunday morning at this point. Would hate to miss this.

LOL i think the drive in the mountains is too far for most but I am down for either one (and i live near the mountains) but depending on how many cars you get option B would be better. I think the most we have taken on a mountain cruise is 18 and that is the big bear roads which are much wider with bigger paved turn outs. I dont think? the route you list has many big turn outs and they are all dirt and the roads are two way traffic.

Is there a combination of the two ala mahalland and neputues (but that place doesnt have enough room).

if we do the SB cruise first, we won't be in H.B in time to get a pit.
besides, that's a TON of driving and I'm sure most won't want to do all that driving.

I agree on the twisty's, but should consider the weather (heat). 109 yesterday and I doubt much will change by SS.

Atilla, maybe next year we should consider Mulholland, Decker, Rock Store, Neptunes Net Run. I bet the folks from outside SoCal would like to check it. We are spoiled with the amount of bitchen Canyon Runs we have to choose from.

I was in a discussion with one of the directors here about the differences between NY and LA. Our stores aren't performing the same between them, even though on paper they should be.


Every time it comes down to: the LA mentality is different than the NY mentality.


And a large chunk of that is that NY is more focused, LA is less so. Call it lazy, call it different personal priorities, or what, but the difference shows up in the numbers.

Id be so down for decker but that's to much for most people. and its way to far away from the beach.

If we were gonna hit Malibu id say Malibu canyon to mulholland to stunt. then schuren to las virgnes (slow) down to the pch.

100% agree I am born and raised in NYC and am here in Vegas, as one of my duties is hiring I see a large differance from coast to coast in applicants, just saying, surely different

i think that is a good point the canyons would be fun but miserable after a long day at Sevenstock standing in the sun all day.

it's the day AFTER ss... plus, depending on the time of day the canyons aren't that bad...

Sounds like most of you have never cruised up to these mountains.

Living in Lake Arrowhead since the '92 riots, I'm right in the middle of the run.

Today I went to Anaheim Racing Beat, Huntington Beach DSPORT Magazine, then to Thousand Oaks a car dealer, N. Hollywood, then Irwindale JRX Rotary...then back up the hill

All pretty much normal as I run around SoCal at least 3 days a week.
Up and down the mountain here is the best there is...cooler and cleaner and you won't get better twisties and scenery anywhere close.

BTW...a beach is where you can actually go in the water ;)
