View Full Version : New system in my 8
Luckey8 02-07-2004, 11:26 PM here are some photos of my system install I just completed. I put JL 653 3ways in the door, JL 6.5 coax in the rear deck, a JL 8w0 sub in the trunk, Alpine 5 channel amp in back and XM Commander. The sound is incredible. What do you think?

My stars that is a nice install. You ought to be proud. What genre of music do you have the system tuned for - just curious...
brothervoodoo 02-08-2004, 02:16 PM Wow, that was an insane install, looks good.
family_man 02-08-2004, 02:30 PM The rotor shaped speaker grill is a nice touch!

Zoom49 02-08-2004, 09:14 PM Congrats!! Best job Ive seen in an 8. Bet it sounds sweet.
from one custom installer to the next...very nice work indeed my friend...it looks as though it sounds great...
I'm planning on making use of the "tray" as well..
BTW...did you dynomat the rear gate area as well?
Jeff_pap31s 02-09-2004, 09:47 AM Godd job! How much did the cost run up to if you don't mind me asking?
HighRev'n 02-09-2004, 02:44 PM Having just installed a JL 12w3v2 in my trunk, I have to give you props. I know how much effort it takes to do this kind of work. The Dynamat in the trunk was a b*tch to put in. My hands are still all cut up. You really went the extra mile on that stuff doing the doors and rear deck. I'm sure it sounds great! I really like your sub box design. It's very clean, nice touch with the rotary accent. Can you provide any more info on how you designed and built the box? I know in those corners there are a lot of ins and outs you have to built around. Mazda sure didn't make it easy for us. You wouldn't have any pictures of the box before you installed it in your trunk, would you?

JimJimElf 03-15-2004, 09:06 PM Cool install but how much did it cost total.
I like the way you squeezed the drivers into the doors - any issues there to speak about?
JSE RX-8 03-16-2004, 03:31 PM wow...thats one clean system. i like the hide-away subs in the trunk. it looks like it is apart of the car that came stock
