It was my 3rd car overall. My 2nd RX7. A 1985 RX7 base. My 1st one was an 84 GS. It was clean, but I beat it so bad I blew the motor and tranny. I was young and naive. I believed that rotaries could rev forever....not true...they only feel like that. Anyway..this was my 2nd RX7 that had 60,000 miles when I got it in late 1998. At it's peak it had a streetported 13B with tons of other mods. I miss this car sooooooo much. And partly why I now own an RX8. Anyways, I thought I'd share the pics.

Nice 7. There is just something about the 1st gen car I really like.

This was my 1st car.

Nice. No pics to show, but my first car was a 83 GSL. I acquired a 84 GSL-SE some years later which I spent a lot of time restoring. Was a beautiful car until some old man took it out because he did not know how to make a left turn properly.

I miss that car too. It always crosses my mind to buy another 1G, but the RX8 will do. :)

I really would take that RX7 alll fully built like it was over my RX8.

I mean..I felt like I could beat on it all day, no problem. The RX8....well...it isn't a drag car. Fast, but it doesn't like it. I love both, but I'll take that RX7 and no car payments over my RX8.

But...I have my RX8 and I'll love her. Maybe the longer I own it, the bond will form. HAHAh

I'm so corny.

I agree with you. Just like you, eventhough I have the RX8 it does not feel better than the RX7.

Eventhough it's been more than almost 20 years The first generation RX7 is the car that I still feel I have a close bond with. Each time I see one on the road it brings back emotional memories.

About 3 months ago I was driving on 15 North and a first generation RX7 came right next to my RX8 and we waved at each other. I let the RX7 pass my RX8 before she dissappeared.

LONG LIVE THE FIRST GENERATION RX7.

Did I get too emotional here?

1st gen RX7's are the best.....most fun. Easiest to mod...great little cars.

I like those wheels! I have some pics of mine buried somehwere around here...

I've had 4 1st gen RX-7s and they're great cars. I will eventually get a GSL-SE for ole' time's sake.
