Oh yes, that's right, its back again! This time we are actually going to have time to organise!

WHEN: Friday 12th of August till Sunday 14th of August, 2011
WHERE: Wakefield Park, Goulburn!
HOW MUCH: TBA, but the aim is to get increased sponsorship and get the cost down to below the 2010 number!
SPOTS: 30, pending interest

Given the limited nature of Motorsport in Australia, both in terms of track availability and cost, the RX-8 Nationals are again returning to Wakefield Park, Goulburn! Given the track is basically booked years in advance, there was a very limited number of dates available. Mid August was chosen for its higher chance of better weather, without getting too hot and awful. Again the weekend will consist of dinner Friday night, all meals Saturday and breakfast Sunday. We will also be looking at doing something a bit more special Saturday night...more details as I get it sorted.

We will be approaching both Mazda Australia and Shannons again for sponsorship, and will hopefully be able to get the word out sooner so that we can get even more of the new club members out there! I want to see you Series 2 guys represent!

Again I will be asking for calls of commitment first up, and once I pin down the numbers I will start taking deposits and full amounts. We do have a surplus from last year that is being used to secure the track, so once I know that people are keen we can lock it in and get started in earnest.

Come on guys, lets build on this year and make this the biggest Nationals yet!

Good and Bad news!

Good News: I have finally got prices off Wakefield!

Bad News: They went up as predicted :(

Basically we are looking at $9,000 for Track+Timing *without* Catering. Now that I have numbers I can begin to work out firmer details, but due to the lackluster catering this year I think we will have our big Saturday dinner in Goulburn (will confirm with Damo if his mate's pub it available) and have a few brave souls be shuttlebuses?

Would people prefer to have food included, or will we turn self sufficient and only worry about the Saturday dinner (ie: bring your own toast for breakfast, order pizza for Friday night)

We are looking at $450 per person if we have 20 committed, 300 if 30 commit.

What I want to do is now open up for the $150 deposits. Again, if people can use $500 as the upper-most figure and commit from there. Once I know how many people are willing to put the money where there mouth is, I can lock in the rest and give a final costing. Remember, this does not include food, accommodation or license/helmet hire. Please use the details from the 2010 event (as attached) to make your deposit. 8)

Yeah, Wakefield catering really suffered with the retirement of Debbie, but the plan is, at least for Saturday, to have dinner a local Pub that is best mates with Damo (Shannons)

I've been told its great food at a great price :)

2011 Entry form now on post 1 of rx8club.com.au...this information is correct as it stands. If we get to 30 participants then I will issue refunds to people who pay the 20 participant cost. Its better to over estimate then under estimate.

The sooner the money comes in the sooner you can not worry about it, more then happy to have people pay me in bits too, just make sure to reference your transactions.

If I still have the 8 I'll be there. Have recently moved to the dark side and bought a Nissan 370z.

The 8 has been retired from daily driver duty and she who must be obeyed is putting me under pressure to sell it:Kill1::Kill2:. I'm currently resisting but may wilt under pressure..... Otto :wallbash:

What's the latest update on this; I haven't heard anything in a very long time?

I've just realised how close this is, and I'm itching to get the 8 onto a track.
