RX-GR8 02-07-2004, 12:03 AM how about canzoomers stage 1 ecu upgrade? the strakes would look nice on the sides. snowsurfgirl 02-07-2004, 12:30 AM Thanks, I'll check those out!! brothervoodoo 02-07-2004, 01:08 AM congrats with the new ride. Lex 02-07-2004, 06:48 AM I have a suggestion: Park closer to the curb next time so you don't risk your shiny 8 getting dinged. TitaniumRX8MD 02-07-2004, 08:18 AM Definately need to get clear corners KC_RX-8 02-07-2004, 09:03 AM clear corners and strakes are a must for a silver car..... actually for any 8' in my opinion :D btw, CONGRATULATIONS! success07 02-07-2004, 11:04 AM Also front mud guards and some smoked windows would be good. With all the suggestions given to you thusfar your car will end up looking like this but only in Sunlight Silver!! :D Enjoy and Congrats!!! It's a ton of fun!!!! :D :D snowsurfgirl 02-07-2004, 11:46 AM Thanks for all of the suggestions, guys! This gives me a good place to start. Do you have names of any places that I can get some deals on some parts? As I said, I'm a total "virgin" to this, so I need all the help I can get... success07 02-07-2004, 11:55 AM This forum is all you need. There is a vender section which can get you everything you need. Some offering discounts for forum users. If you don't find something just do a search and you should find what you need. Its all out there and with 'do it yourself' threads for installation. If, in fact, you want to do them yourself. p.s. A clear bra from Clear-Guard is a must, IMO. Unless the rock chips don't bother you. :) ac89 02-07-2004, 12:40 PM great car!! what's that on your roof? never seen that in the UK snowsurfgirl 02-07-2004, 01:10 PM When I bought the car, it came with a wind deflector for the sunroof. I think that's what you're referring to. I was looking at the vendors here for the strakes, but haven't seen any. Any ideas on where to get some?? By the way, my parking spot is pretty big. I had plenty of room on both sides, and my neighbors know to NOT EVEN park close to my new baby. :) Just didn't want you to think I don't know how to park. LOL Squidward 02-07-2004, 06:41 PM Trussville (http://www.trussvillemazda.com/) seems to be the most popular spot for ordering online Mazda accessories.... Kaliken 02-07-2004, 09:03 PM looks good! I will agree.. clear corners are really good looking on the silver! Also after seeing Outlaws_Extreme's strakes I have decided that Idefintitely need to get some! Omicron 02-07-2004, 09:30 PM Very nice indeed, georgeous car. :D You also found the motherload of info about it here on these forums. How did you find out about us? Congrats, and welcome! snowsurfgirl 02-07-2004, 10:24 PM My husband clued me in on the site. Thanks for all the great info! I think I'll ask for some strakes and clear corners for my birthday. After that, who knows... He's going to be sorry that he got me hooked on this site. lol :) I guess I'll have to be nice and let him drive my car every once in a while! cruzdreamer 02-08-2004, 01:31 PM I'm a gal with a silver one, too....it's sweet! I will be getting strakes in the spring for sure. Hubby won't let me do too much to the car. I wanted to tint the windows but he said no! Oh well, just happy to own the car! Enjoy the ride and attention!! snowsurfgirl 02-08-2004, 02:43 PM Thanks, Wendy! Tint would be fun, too!! I'm going to be moving to PA in a few months, and I heard their tint laws are a little strange. I need to read up on that first. I definitely notice I get more attention while driving my "8"!! I haven't seen many other gals on this board. Do you know how many of us are lurking around on these boards? Enjoy your ride! I know I am loving mine!! -Carrie sunlightred8 02-08-2004, 04:26 PM Originally posted by cruzdreamer I'm a gal with a silver one, too....it's sweet! I will be getting strakes in the spring for sure. Good to see you can appreciate the beauty of the RX 8 too!! Sunlightred8....don't you just love the black/red interior? Do you have any pics? Polished rims I'd like to see. Did you get the rotary accent pkg? Snowsurfgirl....you will need winter tires if you are going to PA. Stock all seasons are horrible....not even drivable. I have Dunlop M2's on my stock rims and they are awesome...like night and day!! Good to see you both here.....I have been around for awhile now...notice how many posts I have! Il really enjoy cars! snowsurfgirl 02-08-2004, 11:55 PM Hey cruzdreamer, thanks for the wheel advice! I'll definitely be looking into those in a few months. I'll probably get a second set of rims that I won't mind if they get abused a little bit. mcballz13 02-09-2004, 07:09 PM surfgirl, thats a big move your planning... I live in PA and also own a silver 8. Where about are you relocating to? I have not tinted mine yet but i can fill you in on the tint laws here. ANY tint on the driver and passenger side windows is illegal in PA. It does not matter what the percent is. My last car was a 02 Honda Accord and I got 35% on all 5 windows (which was the lightest the place had) and did not get pulled over once in 3 years! However, I know some friends that did the same thing and got pulled over in one week and they DO make you remove it within a few days. Its gambling here up north when tinting, but ill have to admit I still see plenty of cars on a daily basis with limo dark. A lot of times its like wearing a seatbelt, they wont pull you over just for the tint itself. But they will add it on to any other violation you may get stopped for. Hope this helps... P.S. Tint on the rear windows is legal though. sunlightred8 02-10-2004, 04:00 PM Originally posted by cruzdreamer Hey girls!! Good to see you can appreciate the beauty of the RX 8 too!!
