How come the Chevrolet SS concept looks more than a little like the Rx-8?

It's funny how they made it look like the RX-8 in the advertising- because I swear that in person, it looked completely different. Maybe Chevy decided that Mazda's lines looked prettier than theirs. Its about 5 times as big as the RX-8, in actuality.

Sorry I didn't get a side view with the doors closed, or a front view. The car cleaning guy was following me again, and I got annoyed and quit.

Even the wheels look similar to the RX8.

Flattery, eh? I remember the same was said of the C5 Corvette to the FD RX-7 when it was released, and to a WAY lesser extent, at the time, the Camaro to the NSX for it's similar use of body color and black painted cockpit.

... I was about to post the same question.

I watched Autoweek's show (on our local PBS channel) this last Sat., they covered the Detroit auto show and showed the SS ... and I thought the same thing. Especially from the front... :p

Sadly there was no mention of the RX-8 ... :(

Well I think it's been pointed out in a few threads that the 8 is basically an S2000 with 4 doors and a hard top.

Both Beautiful Cars Imo!!

RX-8, imo, would fit somewhere between the two.
