Does anyone else have the problem with the doors staying open? It seems that the detent positions are not very good. I cannot tell you how many times it has closed on my foot or finger. If there is an adjustment, that would be great.

Every time I open it, it swings back closed, unless I consciously stop it at the detent positions. Got my finger twice going for the hidden trunk release!

Actually I have just the opposite problem. I drive off all the time with my door not closed. I'll be miles down the road thinking what is that noise, and then I'll notice the door open light on the dash...... hee hee

To close it, you do have to do it pretty hard, it just tries to close om me, not staying in the open detent positions. I'm getting used to it, but it should not be that way, I don't think.

i have that prob too. my only solution is to catch it w/my foot (at the bottom of course) and hold it open while i get out. im always wearing boots or something w/heels so i have 2 b careful not to scratch my door or the door sill.

You probably want your door to close fast if you're in Lake Worthless....ha ha ....just a little PSL humor back at you Palm Beachers.

Yup, the door checks are not good. It is one of my major annoyances on the car because I just can't get the right amount of push to have the door get past the second detent and hold the door open. Either I push too hard and it bounces back, or I don't push hard enough and the detent pushes it back at me. It is not a successful design. Bad mechanical engineer . . . bad, bad.

Oh, I'm so glad someone else posted this problem! I've had my door close on my leg more than once as I'm getting out with my arms full of stuff, unable to catch it before it closes on me. The detents are not tight enough to hold the door open on even the slightest tilt or in a slight breeze. Ouch!

Same here - will complain about it at first servicing. I'm keeping a list. John

I have no problems. Mine is just with the battery. It seems like every has some kind of problem, just a different 1. Thats what comes with a 1st year production model!

I'm glad that I am not the only one. I am going to the dealer today for my windshield wipers. They put something on the window (I think it is whatever they used to write their stock number on it) that I cannot get off, and it ruined my wiper blades. I'll post whatever they tell me on this topic.

Well, I just got home from the dealer, and they did nothing. The mechanic gave me a look like I was crazy, and the service guy told me that he has the same problem with his Dodge Ram. I expect things like that with American cars. Oh well, the next time I get slammed, I will just have happy thoughts of how much fun I just had driving my 8!

LOL if I only had a dollar for everytime people, including myself had to close the door twice (or even three times!)....
