Hey. I was looking at putting the options list together for my car when I realized I was being asked for $550 for the 6-disc changer..when you can get them at Best Buy for $200.

At that point, I went to www.mazdastuff.com and found that there is a dealer-option for an MP3 player.

Has anyone seen this component or put it in their car? I'm curious if it's any good...

Not to point out the obvious, but there is several forum areas dedicated to stuff like this. There have been multiple reviews as well as step by step self-installinstructions as well as where to get the items the cheapest. Just use the forum search function or simply go to the audio and electronics area for example, and it's all there.

You get what you pay for... The Dealer stuff will probably fit without problems. After market stuff at BestBuy, will probably fit after 8-10 hours of work.

Um, the dealer installed changer is in the dash....that best buy model will be mounted in your trunk...you're paying for convenience...

And quality since any aftermarket part right now is going through the FM tuner as the stock headunits have no aux inputs.

And just in case anyone needed a reminder, installing the stock audio parts in the spot Mazda meant them to go is no picnic, even if you're well equipped to do the work. But I always prefer the stock look for stuff like this whenever possible, which makes the stock equipment an obvious choice..

Just to chime in... also, dealer installed items are covered under the car's warranty. Cheers
