Anybody have an idea about how much monthly payments would be for a $30k car loan?

Also, any guess as to what cars the insurance will be similar to?

Trying to figure out if I can afford one

Lease should be ~$400-420 a month with $1500-2000 down.

That's the route I will be going.

They charge interest, you know!

$30,000 x 60 months @ 7.65%= 603.27/month

$24,975.50 x 60 months at 7.65%= 500.00/month

Check the calculators at edmunds.com

Yes, but it is the default in the Edmunds calculator. And like Herc said...

Thanks all for the replies. I think it will be just barely above my price range right now
And that's the worst because I keep thinking: "Well, maybe I can afford it..." and then coming to the conclusion again that I can't get it. It's endless torture!!! :(

Sell your current car to put a bigger down payment on the RX-8? Not an option for me, unfortunately, as I've become too attached to my MR2. :)

No RX-8 for me for a while. *sigh*

Here's a little Excel spread sheet I use to calc monthly payment.

EDIT: Enter your numbers in the blue font area, the other number will calc automatically.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! Good Duck. Pulled through again.

Great excel sheet.

Let's see now....

$15k down
$31,900 for my options
~$3,400Interest on loan
~$360/month

Grand total ~$37,944.22

Wow and I though having a $15k deposit would benefit.

Oh well at least it's still under the $40k mark.
