Eh, it wouldn't be absolutely awful or anything, but memory seats strike me as the kind of feature best suited for people that want their cars to be as much like their living room as possible. RX-8 drivers aren't those people :-)

I would think the most logical place for them to be added on would be as part of the power seats in the GT package, and having seat memory would just drive up the cost of it, so maybe it's best left off for a bit in the interest of efficiency.

Besides, adjusting the seat a little after someone else drives isn't that terrible of a burden, is it? I can think of worse things a car could make you do . . . like not let you punch the tach to 9k. That, is a feature I don't think ANYBODY is gonna rail against :-D

I just love the memory seat option on my 2003 Corvette and sure wish the RX8 had it too. Especially nice is when you take the key out the seat automatically moves to the full aft position, great for getting in and out.

Maybe its only my particular shape or size but it takes an extraordinary amount of time to get the seat "just right" and whenever someone moves the seat for some reason or other it "annoys" me no end. I have never had a car with memory seats but have use one or two as a second driver on trips and I definately wish they were part of the Rx8 package.

I'd vote for that space age memeory foam in the seats, that would be cool. You know, the kind that you see all those new matteresses being made out of .

I hope that material works better for seats than beds.

I bought a Tempur-Pedic bed last year and sent it back because it didn't do what the company claimed it could do. Instead of molding to my body, it stayed nice and flat - like concrete. Certainly didn't help my lower back. Their sales rep said that perhaps I don't give off enough body heat to activate the material. Yeah whatever...

Anyway, back on topic, I would like memory seats too. My wife is tiny, and it takes forever to get my seat back in place after she drives.

I love the memory seats on our Audi - it's linked to the remote, so when I unlock the car, the seat automatically moves to my driving position, when my wife unlocks the car with her remote, the seat adjusts to her settings. It's great not to have to mess around finding the just right settings again, and if you already have power seats, then it's just a little IC circuit to implement - a bit extra cost, no extra weight. Yeah, I'd have liked it in the RX-8. (IF nobody else ever drove the car, then I wouldn't even want power seats).

Gordon

Umm...they wouldn't (unless you converted your seats to electronic seats....). We are talking about the electric seats. That is sort of why they went to electronic seats so they can move the seat for you.

I'm glad that alot of you see this issue, everytime my freinds see the car they want to sit in the drivers position and start adjusting the seats. And because I'm a nice guy I want them to feel the car like I do. But when its time for me to drive again I go nuts finding my G spot lol.

lol we will put a manual memory seat module on your manual seats ZOOM, you will need to turn around a bond fire 3 times and will also have to be naked to activate it.
