View Full Version : Tiny Paint Splatter on Headlights

I recently bought my RX8 from a private seller and found that there are tiny specks of dried paint on my headlights.

Would paint thinner be able to break it down enough so that I could scratch it off with my nails? I also heard from a few people that you could clay-bar it off but that sounds wrong to me. Any other suggestions?

Best to use a specific headlight polish kit you can get at Autozone and elsewhere (Turtlewax, et al). Cleaning/polishing plastic requires different polish/pads.

Paint thinner may haze your headlight. I would try it in a small corner to see if it works.

Thanks for the responses!

If a simple polish kit does work, I don't think I'll need to risk hazing my headlights with paint thinner.

The simple polish kit worked just fine. =]

...and I'm terribly sorry for such a late response!
