I'm happy to be joining the forum here, and now I have a great excuse. I traded my 00 Miata and took delivery of a 04 GT w/Nav on Saturday. Really great car and reminds me of my old RX-7's.

I had to leave the day after picking up the car, and I read the manual on my flight. The owners manual mentions headlight washers, and I understand from a friend that this is a usual requirement for HID lights. Do these cars really incorporate headlight washers. I did not have much of a chance to check it out, but can't figure where these would be incorporated.

Thanks

You don't have them on the US version. Maybe on Canada since they are referenced in the North America owner's manual.

On just about everything but US 8s. See the protrusions just below the headlights. When the headlights are on, sprays every 5th time you use the windshield washer.

In Europe, cars with HID lights are required to have headlight washers. You can even spot them on exotics like the new Ferrari 612 Scaglietti!

In Canada, it's not a legal requirement as far as I know, but Mazda Canada chose to make them standard equipment on all RX-8s. As mentioned, they're not available at all on US RX-8s. You guys got the Tire Pressure Monitoring System instead! ;)

Only wish they gave us an extra set of sensors for our snow tires:( . That will be my $400 treat this fall.
