What do you prefer if you lived in the desert with open blacktop as far as the eye could see with little or no traffic and unlimited fuel and you could repair the car perfectly?
A) RX-3 rotory
B) turbo flat four
C) 427 (7.0 litre) 420kw, 550 bhp, 800Nm, 300Km+ sub 4 seconds 0/60mph?

I'm sorry, but is a bad poll. First of all, no one have had any seat time in the new STi and only a handful of non-US drivers have had the good fortune to have driven an older STI so any vote for or against new STi would be based solely on speculation. Second not everyone on this list have owned a 3rd gen RX-7. I feel very lucky to own one and know the pleasures of the mightly TT 2 rotor. Finally, even fewer have driven a 4 sec 7.0L V8. Though, I plan to a own a 427 Cobra Replica in a few years, I still haven't had any seat time in one yet. So the only car I could vote on is the RX-7.
Personally, I really like the concept of the STi. I would replace my 626 with one in a heartbeat if I had 35 large burning a hole in my pocket. Also, the STi would fill my need for a back seat (baby seat) and AWD (steep driveway), but the RX-7 would be much more fun to drive even with 45HP less on open, cop free roads with no family, responsibility, and inclement weather.

I think some of you are taking this poll a little too seriously.
Hmmm... Both the RX-7 and STi are turbocharged, not the best performers in the heat of the desert. But the awd STi would make it fun to play in the dirt. The V8 would, of course, fair much better in the heat, but I've always been partial to smaller engines. I think I'd have to go with the STi

do what you want, it's only a forum, hey, why don't you haver a naked lady in the passenger seat, Oh and by the way, I'd vote for the V8, considering it has the same performance as a Porsche GT2 for half the price. And it'd sound better!
