and i saw this beautiful piece on ebay, so i bought it put it on.

I think they come with different colors, so far I know they have blue, red and black,they may have more colors, price was reasonable i think, $35 shipped, but you need a small work on the hook tho, coz the hole on our 8 is pretty deep, so you will need a piece of screw or sth to adjust the hook (it's adjustable):D:

Who tows their 8s? Is it for like... just in case you get towed for illegal parking or something? I don't get it.

Just in case. OP said he hopes to never use it. And if you are lowered or have a ground effects kit towing from the rear could cause the front to drag if the rear end is lifted up

If you ever track your car, as in NASA HPDE. You will be required to have one. It makes it a lot easier to retrieve a car from the track should you go off the course.

BTW, it will eventually fade to pink.

Philip, great catch on those feeBay hooks. I've been using stock hooks with climbing caribiners hooked to them to get the 2" minimum diameter the tracks like to see. I tie-wrap the 'biners to the hooks so they don't clank around on-track. I wanted the MS hooks, but they are just too expensive. I don't need them for bling, I just need them for the (hopefully never going to happen) oh-shit moments!

Nice looking but steel aluminum? Is that new? The factory steel hooks that come with the car work perfectly. They just don't look as cool!

The ebay page has 3 colors right now, blue, red and yellow but the only ones that say RX8 are the blue ones.

Question for the OP. You bought red, did the listing say rx8 or did it say m3 and m5? It says they fit all vehicles but I know not all vehicles use the same size tow hooks.

And they also don't have a 2" inner diameter. Tracks use big hooks to pull cars, and if their hook won't go through the car's tow hook, they hook it on to other things like suspension bits. That's why I use the climbing caribiners on the stock steel tow hooks.

At least if it actually is as pictured, I'd be worried about the swinging hook banging on the front bumper and/or grill constantly.

I cant get mine to fit, the thread diameter seems smaller than the OEM one, can u help me? currently I am getting someone to machine the OEM threading on the same peice.

Here is how far my mazdaspeed towhook sticks out. Its flush with the bumper itself.
