legal drinking age 21 is no good. You have the same problems as all other countries (most countries drinking age is 16 / or there is none if you are with your parents). The only difference is that americans are beeing criminalized ! Who didn't have a fake ID ? It's stupid, just forbidding something is not taking care of the problem, it only makes it worse: the forbidden fruit story!

Alcohol should be banned, creates too much violence and deaths

No that is not ture. Alcohol (red wine) helps to prevent you from getting a heart attack for example. That is a proven fact. Alcohol used "normaly" is therefore good for you (healthy).

Only if used in excess it is bad for you, like almost everything used in excess.

ahh the good ol' fake id.. got you into frat parties every time..

really though.. responsible use should be fine. My parents taught me that. I mean wine on Sunday meals. Teaches you to appreciate it and not abuse it. Thus my frosh year I didn't *need* to get hammered every weekend.

Just because the actions of one follower is horrible and it involves killing it doesnt mean that the religion that he follows supports that, like Saddam , hes muslim, but not a true muslim, he doesnt read Quran or follow its teachings, so hes not a true muslim, Thats why im mad that people found out wat Islam is after 9/11 they see it as a terrorizt religion.

A Salama likum! M.P.

True but it isn't just Islam, Christians and Catholics have been doing it for 2 millenia also, remember the Crusades and other such routs thru history.

It is just that people precieve that terrorists are guided by the precepts of Islam. They invoke the name of Allah and Mohammad in the name of their quest to kill or inflict the maximum amount of damage against the infidels. They are told that they will became martyrs for thier people in the name of their god. They are told by thier Imam that what they do is OK in the eyes of Allah and that is why they do it so willingly.

Plus how many Christian or Catholic terrorist factions do you see in the world, maybe in Ireland but you do not see them taking out airliners and skyscrapers all in the name of their god. Untill there is one cleric that can guide the whole of Islam in the proper teachings in the name of Allah then it will only get worse.

Considering the visibility of the Muslim faith I think they need to grab them selves up by the bootstraps so to speak in order to correct the misconceptions and damage done by a few individuals.

I worked as a contactor in Saudi Arabia for two years as a helicopter mech. The day the news broke about 9-11 in the kingdom I saw with my own eyes the soldiers kissing, hugging and high-fiving each other over what had happened. And when I approached them they quickly showed thier other face and were profusly sorry about what had happened. I had one soldier that worked for me actually say the the Japanese did it out of retaliation for Hiroshima and Nagasaki! Never the less I put in my 30 day termination notice that day unbeknownst that the attacks happened back home.

Do not get me wrong I believe that Islam is a good religion and have nothing against it's teachings. I believe in alot of what they preach. It is just a case of one bad apple spoiling the whole dang bunch.

Have you ever thought about why most of them hate the western world ? You having been working in Saudi should know best that we (the western world) steal all their oil and live a wonderful ive, while they live in poverty.

We do not steal thier oil. They are payed the market price for each barrel. A price set by OPEC. The problem lies in the fact that the princes and the ruling hiarchy are taking the oil money and making themselves rich by it. The people live in poverty while the emirs and the princes and the kings live in great wealth, that is who is stealing the "oil" or we should say the money they get for the oil, it is not us. If Prince Fisal and the others would put the money right into the economy then it would be better for all. What did Saddam do with all the money he got for his oil. He squirriled it away and built all those palaces. Now look at him!

I'm closing this one before it gets ugly. Sorry guys, but when a thread (with no title) about the legal drinking age devolves in to yet another argument about Islam in less than a page of posts, it's time for it to go.
