Join the club. Of course we don't have it as bad as CZ up in Edmenton. I can't wait to get the winter tires off and put on my summers and go tear $#!t up.... Oh sorry I got lost there for a second.

Mine's stuck in the stupid parking lot. I'm praying tomorrow the snow will have melted enough I can get it out. Haven't driven it for 6 days now. Going into withdrawl.

I couldn't do it I had to get snow tires right away.

I washed mine last night. Really stood out in the parking lot today with all the salt covered vehicles. Of course it's dirty again now!

Hang in there mdw33333. We've had it pretty mild up until the last 2 weeks!

I'm in Ohio with you, mdw3333, Not really thrilled with whats going on but it will make those sunny days that much more enjoyable.

I agree with Elara, I'm going through withdraw also. :( Mine has been in the garage for a week now. I started her up tonight just to hear the engine and exhaust note. I ran her for about 10-15mins and then played with the throttle for min. just for some fun.

Stay strong everyone, we'll make it through. :D

I don't know how you guys can leave your 8's in the garage during the winter. It would kill me to walk past it every day and drive something else to work. The last few days have really sucked over here as well (friggin' high of 3 degrees F today + snow), but I'd still rather be zoomin in my 8 than anything else. Even on days I work from home I still make excuses to go snowmobiling : )

I got my 8 on November 29th, 2003. I only have 700 miles on it. I've only dirven it on the few clear days we've had here. It's been 2 1/2 weeks since I've driven it. I run a custom auto trim shop in Akron, and we put 19" wheels on it, that was the last time I drove it. Drove it to the shop and back home.

I can handle the cold, but the snow and ice are piling up.

I orignally planned to take the 8 off the road for winter cause I didn't want to spend the extra money on snow tires.

I took a trip to NY during the Thanksgiving holiday and ended up getting some Blizzaks cause i didn't want to get caught in PA with the summer tires on. Well now that the 8 is equipped with winter rubbers, I wasn't sure I was going to put her away for the winter... and when the temps started to drop... it was really hard to give up the seat warmers (something my previous car doesn't have). Now that we've gotten several snow/ice storms... I KNOW for a fact that I'd rather drive my 8 during the cold months.

Yes, Ohio winters do suck... (well... it's not only the winter... all of the professional sports teams really suck too), but with a good set of winter tires on... who cares!!!!!!

Peace

try minneapolis - 24 below this morning when I woke up.....

haven't even opened the garage the 8 lives in for 7 days - yes, 7 days. Driving the mp5, but it is just not the same... We get a heat wave tomorrow here in the Twin Cities - High of 10 predicted, but it will probably end up at more like 1..... I need to move to Tahiti

Hee Hee! Same here, took it to touchless car wash and then pulled in my semi-heated garage and detailed her up!

Call me crazy, but I love driving my car all year round. I love the fact that I can put snow tires on it and drive it through the snow. I don't even mind the fact that it's really salty and dirty right now. It's like a little all-purpose tank - the most fun to drive little "tank" on the road.

Yeah, I know the salt and sand and stuff isn't good for it, but I'd rather be driving it than worrying about the paint. That's what the Zaino is for.

I agree... My snow tire equipped RX8 drives better than any front wheel drive car I have ever owned! =)

Man, I know. I only have the 040's and we got that ice storm. Took 3 days for the crap to melt! Torture! Had Mon/Tues off cuz they don't know how to drive, nor how to clear roads down here very well at all. Two days off with nowhere to go! Sukt. Today's high was 58 though - all's well now. Calling for more crap on Sun/Mon though. Uh oh...

Bwahahahahaha! Yeah, well (rub-rub).... I know :D

Get an employment agency or five on your case. Find a job down here that'll move you down for $0. It works, I know. ;)

Reminds me of those starving Ethiopians & that short comedian guy that screams real loud, screaming "you know what this is?!?This is sand!!! You can't grow food in sand!!! Move away from here!!!

JK, of course ! :D

Hmmmmm er, yup! Other dependants? They move when you do. K? It realy is very simple. Housing & land around these here parts is comically dirt-cheap compared to where you're at. ;) Do yourself a favor & at least take an interview or two. The fly you down & stuff, etc, all expenses paid, and no obligation! It's fun for a while anyway, just flying around, taking job interviews here & there.

My father (after he got rid of all of his rugrats) did it right. He lived in Ft Meyers, FL in the winter, and back to good old Allentown, PA for the summer. Man, that's the way to do it! Of course, ya gotta be either retired, or find some kind of job that'll do that, if there is such a job (swimming pool maintenance? Hehe.)

i've decided not to fool around with switching tires twice a year with the 8 so i'm just not going anywhere these days. Oh well, i don't really have anywhere to go anyway.
