View Full Version : sometimes I wish I had a 350Z or a Neon....
zerobanger 01-28-2004, 05:36 PM I drove to LA and back in the last 2 days for work. I had so many compliments on my car. Could not go to a gas station, stop at a redlight, park in a parking lot...with out a comment...even on the highway everyone in the lane next to me kept giving me a thumbs up.
It gets old after a while, but I guess it shows you what a special car this is. Driving a 350Z or neon I guess can have some advantages as you dont have to deal with people admiring your car.
Ok, I'm done stating the obvious....
mikeb 01-28-2004, 07:26 PM I never get sick of the attention
zoom44 01-28-2004, 07:43 PM we know mike ;) and i understand zerobanger. especially when driving on the highway i sometimes wish people would quit gawking and get the hell out of the way.
pp13bnos 01-28-2004, 08:07 PM My boss says "Every time I see either of your cars I say to myself "Man, who drives that car?" (She says it in admiration.) Then I remember. Ohhh....Its just CJ."
Other than that, All the attention I get is from the wanna be gansters working at the gas stations. :(

johncalifornia 01-28-2004, 09:15 PM I had a Jaguar XKE roadster a long time back. The attention was fun at first but it got old after a while. It gave me a tiny idea of what a celebrity's life is like -- not all rosy!
(BTW the 8 would kick the Jag's butt, but what a gorgeous car that old E-type was! I almost wept when I sold it but it was impossible to keep running on my salary.)
Rx8Past 01-28-2004, 09:29 PM I dont seem to get any attention at all driving in the bay area. Already people are talking about how lots of people have the rx-8. However I just dont see where all those owners are hiding.. =P
Baller 01-28-2004, 09:56 PM XKE was one of the most beautiful cars of all time.

I second that
Senseny 01-28-2004, 11:04 PM I third that E-type sentiment. I am not really into British cars, but those are works of art.
zerobanger 01-28-2004, 11:08 PM I think the Toyota GT2000 was the 2nd best looking Japanese car ever. 240Z was sweet too.
hotpot 01-29-2004, 12:44 AM Among current cars, my best-looking car is the Aston Martin DB7. It just oozes with class.
I mean Johnny English drive it!

:D Well, at least your boss has a sense of humor... even if it's at your expense.
aussie77 01-29-2004, 08:57 AM Best looking Japanese car ever has to be the RX-7 Spirit A. Hands down that thing is downright beautiful.

You mean spirit "R", not "A" I assume. I agree that the 94+ RX-7 is the best looking japanese car ever. I think the Rx-8 is the "coolest" Japanese car ever.
cruzdreamer 01-29-2004, 09:49 AM I enjoy it still!!! It's fun!
jleighZ 01-29-2004, 11:48 AM Hmm....I have a 350Z and get compliments and stares constantly
80CuIn 01-29-2004, 01:10 PM Zero,
I feel the same way. Don't like all the attention. Although I'm not sure if people are looking. I never try to intentionally look at other people so in turn, I never know if they are looking at me. I just keep my eyes on the road and the other vehicles.
Zero, just don't look at them and you will never know if they are looking at you.

I actually tried that yesterday. This couple kept waving to me in the lane next to me. I ignored them.
Then they hit the gas and pulled infront of me. It looks like they were asking if they can pull in front.
I lose no matter what.
