Here's a tip that would help many would-be photographers out there.....move your car out of the driveway. Driveway shots SUCK!

**edit** ....so do parking lot shots.

Also, anytime you can get cannons in a photo with your car, that's cool.

There's plenty of them in the photo gallery, no rx-8's yet. But use them as inspiration. You will have to have a decent camera. Half a megapixel just wont hack it.

Another handy tip I've picked up through observation is...

When you park up to take your photos, simply leave your steering turned. It gives your car a more 'dynamic', purposeful look. And you get a much less 'static' photo. This looks especially great if you combine this with shooting from a low angle.

I don't have an example to hand, but browse through this Photo Gallery Forum and you'll see what I mean.

I'm gonna try to mimic something like that reflection shot next time the opportunity presents itself.

Although Gandu does have some fine photos, fine photos, fine photos, I think Brothervoodoo has some of the best night shots of a car that I've seen....sweet!

I haven't had time to check that website but I have bookmarked it. I need to get a better camera to get the type of resolution shown in those samples.

Roger that!!! I really would like a better still camera.....For video, I'm set....but still would like a better digi-still camera. Taxtime?

but even so....you can get decent shots out of a disposable kodak or grandpa's old camcorder if you know 'how' to use it.

Thanks for the mention Sea Ray. I'll re-post one here, but I'm just a novice. Brothervoodoo is the expert I've seen, but there's always more good shots.

Wow, that red looks awesome from that angle. Looks candy apple red.

I think that color is the result of some Photoshop massaging ;)

Awesome color nevertheless.

Yes, the one more photo is a photoshop rendition of a pic of my car. It's the same side pic that's in my sig. Picture taken at high noon in the fall with a southern exposure. It's supposed to be close to the orange on some of the other Mazda models as that's where I tried to lift it from. I would think this would be closer to a candy red ...

That looks more like a candy apple red and blue 8 to me ;) . The trouble w/ mine is i can either get it in the driveway clean or somewhere else dirty.
