Here are pics of my Toyo Proxes 4 245/40/18s mounted on Enkei 18x8 RP02-J rims. Quality isn't the best because it's in my garage in Sunday's snowstorm.

Rim offset is 42mm, and because they are ( Gasp!! ) not quite hubcentric I had to get a set of metal hubcentric rings from discount tire direct via eBay. They were on my doorstep in less than 48 hours!

The camera flash lit up the wheelwell gap but it is no worse than what it was with the OE rims and tires. The 8mm difference in offset pushes the rims out about .3" farther in the wheelwells but there is no rubbing front or back side. This offset and 245 section width fill up the rear wheelwells much better than OE.

Personally I think the RP02-J's look a more conservative than the OE rims, but the price was right and Enkei rates them for street or track. This wheel/tire combo weighs in at just under 43 lbs. each, which is within a pound or so of the OE's on my bathroom scale. I elected to leave the sensors off this set.

This better shows how the 245's fill the rear wheel well. Since installing I've worked the suspension pretty hard and had no rubbing at all.

Does it still have that razor sharp steering feel ?

Those tires are a performance tire right ? What made you get a set are you going to use the OE wheels for winter use ?

I'm really not able to tell much handling difference between these and the RE040 tires given the cold weather and the need to be sane on public roads. The extra-legal driving I've done with the Toyos has been on dry, cold roads and the tires have inspired a lot of confidence. The car doesn't tramline any worse with the wider tires than it did before, and the steering response is as sharp or perhaps slightly better. I bought the Toyos for all-weather driving, to include snow (and they work nicely). Will put the OE tires and rims back on from ~ May to November. Thanks for the props.

Ned, Now that you've had some time to live with your wheels, are you happy with them looks wise ?

I think they look nice in the pictures and would definitely consider them when I buy winter wheels in the fall.
Plus since they stick out further from the car the aggressive stance makes it appealing especially in the rear !!!

Yes, Im happy with them altho after seeing Psychofox's IForged 19" $$$ setup....

Seriously, they are working out fine and I'm happy with the choice. As do many things, they look better in person than in the pictures. Absolutely no issues with wheel balance or tire noise. I'm gonna be reluctant to put the OE's back on for the summer knowing the OE wheel/tire combo is almost 5 lbs heavier.

That's a good point about the 5 lb difference . . . I've had a lot of aftermarket wheels on my last car and 5 lbs does make a difference so I guess it's both good and bad that they weigh less.
Good for now but bad for when you need to switch back.

I went to the website where you got yours and they are only showing those wheels in 17" but when you click on it they say it comes in 18" as well. I wonder if they are just out of 18's or if they stopped that size !?

Do any other places sell that wheel ?

The site I got the rims/tires from (Treadepot.com) did not keep the 18" Enkei's in inventory - they ordered them in for me, no probs. This added maybe 4 or 5 workdays to the process. I ordered by phone (I don't do point & click orders for that much money), and they were responsive and polite.

wow I really like how the 17" turn out, looks pretty good, as I stated in another tread. I dont' like big wheels, they are just heavy or $$ if is light. I would much rather go with a set of 17 all year round wheel. Even for winter, Rota have soem nice wheels for really cheap if you check at www.machiii.net most of their 17" are going for $600 shipping included. When I pick up my 8, I am going to get a set of 17 forsure, anyone wants to buy my stock tires?
