And I'm kidding(unfortunately). This is just a *tiny* bit out of my price range for now. You could buy a new 8 instead! But it's nice to dream...
moRotorMotor 01-27-2004, 02:29 PM lol Can you imagine how wrinkled we would be after watching a movie? Not practical in my opinion but sure looks good. :)
klegg 01-27-2004, 03:35 PM I actually looked at a similer system last year during our remodel, but price was to high. Insted I put in a normal (no tv) jaccuzzi and a seperate shower with a spray wall....I hung a small lcd TV on the wall, you kind of get the effect...that spray wall is neat, not too expensive...well worth it, IF you have good water pressure..
Elara 01-27-2004, 03:45 PM What is this "spray wall" you're talking about? Got a link? We're buying a new house, and I'm looking at fun upgrades right now, and that sounds interesting...
mental pimp 01-27-2004, 04:11 PM wow, thats really cool, ill get that in a couple of years ;)
noahprtlnd 01-27-2004, 04:15 PM My wife and I have side-by-side toilets with a plasma TV in front of them. We sit on the toilets all day and night and watch movies, it's great. No bathroom breaks etc.

Just remember to make the shower as large as possible (at least 5 ft x 5 ft, better 10 ft x 10 ft or bigger). We did a major remodel in 2000 (nothing left of the original house but a basement closet :-) ). I never did understand the flat screen tv in the jacuzzi idea. Usually, if you're gonna spend time in the jacuzzi you're either gonna be playing or relaxing. Our builder calls the jacuzzis anniversary specials cause after the first month or so most people only use them on "special occaissions". Unless you are really into baths (my wife). Definitely have fun with the design. Lots of neat stuff out there. My 2 cents.

Yikes, don't think we're doing that either then- this is our first house, and while we can change a few things (carpet, wiring, kitchen floor/island) I don't think we can get a shower that big! Guess we'll stick with the jacuzzi and the regular shower for now!

noahprtlnd 01-27-2004, 04:32 PM Cumpressor, it did not escape my attention that that is Israel in the flame. Please remove it, or suffer the consequences.

There are a number of systems on the mmarket, I installed a jaccuzzi system which has a fiberlass molded shower unit, with a line of spray heads along the back wall. the shower is shaped like a "neo angle" and is 42x 42. one wall has a seat molded in, which gets used pretty much as a foot rest for my wife to shave her legs. I also got the optional dome top, which was designed to make the unit a steam bath, but I use it to keep the humidity down in the bathroom. I think it cost about $1,500 two years ago, but I ordered it in off white, which was a added charge.
I was at a trade show last year, and they were showing a new unit, much better, but 4.000.!!
Grogh makes a nice all in one unit, or did two years ago for about 2,000. I like the all in one units better then a tiled shower, as I have fixed WAYYYYY to much tile in my life. (I did tile work for a year during collage, my knees still hurt!!)
You can buy the hardware seperate and install it yoursef, moen has some nice stuff on thier website...but get some books and DO IT RIGHT!!! Put in greenboard or wonder board as a backer, use latex additvesi in your grout and mastic, ect. I will try to post some pics of the shower.
This looks like what I have, only mine is chrome, and has the sprays on the back wall.

This is the tub I put in, the angles match lthe shower like I planed it!!! About n$900 at home depot in white, expect to pay $500 in any other color (like the off white my wife made me get!!

And I agree, tub gets used at most, once a month....and I like tubs. They do help sell a home though.
klegg 01-27-2004, 06:21 PM here is the spray wall..If any one knows a way to shrink an image to fit our byte limit I sure would like to know...

QuantumTheory08 01-28-2004, 08:37 PM .....I know a radiologist in WA (through a family friend). He actually HAS a bathroom with two toilets for him and his wife....we visited their home; I couldn't believe it.
....it DOES exist.
zoomerx8 01-28-2004, 09:33 PM that jacuzzi is the s#@t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Elara 01-29-2004, 07:54 AM Well, we decided on a standard jacuzzi (just a garden tub with the jets) but we can't afford a bigger shower- maybe on the next house! Still, the tub with the jets and the plasma with the 8 on it...MMMmMmMMmmMmm
