Ok i know there must be 1000 posts about this but I've done a 10 minute search and am not satisfied so I'd like personalized advice.

I'm looking at an 05 rx8 shinka here

My buddy knows the owner and says its as legit as it looks. Is the shinka edition worth 16k? What should I try to talk him down to and what should I go no higher than?

with 30k miles I can't imagine I should be looking at anything too rough, I read that spark plugs should be done every 25k miles so I could do those pretty easy. Anything I should look for/ask other than recall upgrades?

Thanks for reading and any input. If I were to buy, I'd be selling my 00 audi a6 2.7t which i love but its time to upgrade and this looks fun :)

I got my 05 with 23k miles for 13.5k.

16k could get you an 07 with less miles.

That is a bit high on the price. I would say $12,000 at the most.

Unfortunately, some people just dont know how much these cars depreciate.

Yeah, a couple to a few grand off that asking price would be more realistic.

Unless it has a turbo or supercharger, $16k seems high.

I bought the same car last year for $12k. It had 51000 miles but had a 600 watt amp, 10" JL sub, and Mazdaspeed strut tower bars.

I wouldn't go higher than $14k at very most.

well good thing i came through here to ask for a decent asking price, i was thinking about settling for 15k but 14k sounds a little more realistic, I'm pretty sure he wont accept it but we will see. Any thoughts on putting a turbo on it? How much would it run me? I'm assuming several thousand and do I need to remove the motor to do the upgrade?

thanks guys so far youve been alot of help.
