okay so im an iPhone nerrrrrrrd...(big time.)

i study stuff coming out i look up new stuff added to software and all that good stuff..i had the original iphone then bought a 3G and traded both of them (the original's screen got alittle messed up) for a 16GB white iPhone 3G with a apple care warrenty. I did this off craigslist.

Okay so at first the screen was messed up...apple replaced it..then it was doing the same screen problem as before..they replaced the whole phone.

I noticed one day the new replacement had alot of pressure cracks. I keep my iPhone in a hard case so they shouldnt be getting pressure cracks..so i called apple set up another appointment and they replaced it again.

Okay so now my 3rd iPhone is acting up AGAIN.
First off it has more pressure cracks..real noticeable this time too..last time u had to look for them to find them...and also my silent/ringer switch is messed up while on silent..if i switch from ringer to vibrate the phone will keep vibrating and keeps switching from ringer and vibrate..wont stay in vibrate mode.

now i have to wait to get my iPhone replaced again because i use it on T-Mobile so i need to unlock it...if i get a replacement theres a chance itll be unlockable at the moment.

Do yous think i should argue and try to get them to replace my iPhone 3G with an iPhone 3Gs? (newest generation iPhone)

I think after going through all this BS i deserve a new 3Gs.

What do yous think?

What time frame did all this take place in? I've had my 3gS for more than 4 months now and have not had a single issue. Maybe you are having bad luck, but it seems odd that you've had pressure cracks that frequently. Maybe the case you're using is applying pressure in an odd way or something?

I wouldn't bother trying to get them to upgrade. They're fixing it/replacing it under warranty. They have no reason to offer you a better product for free. They're holding true to their contract.

3 cracked screens?

Are you keeping your phone in your back pocket and sitting on it or something? I've had my 3G for like a year now with zero problems, and I haven't heard of anyone else having problems like that. The common denominator in this problem seems to be you.

EDIT: Oh, and forget an upgrade, you've broken three phones and they've been nice enough to send you replacements. Don't press your luck.

i keep it in an incase slider...that i bought from the apple store.
they said the white tends to get pressure cracks more easily...more people notice them too compared to the black.

and im not worrying about the pressure cracks as much as im annoyed about the silent switch not working..this is another hardware problem..
getting another iPhone replaced is what ive been doing and it seems nothing is helping.
its not like im not using a case..or even not a case they know about..i bought the case from the same apple store and they have a deal with incase to sell their products..

Never said anything about cracked screens?
1st iPhone 2G the digitizer started going so i had small lines in it..WASNT CRACKED...and the 3G i had when it was asleep if i looked at it under the light i could see red lines going up and down the screen...almost like the screen was going...it would go away once i woke it back up..real hard trying to show them that problem..had to take pictures for proof...they replaced the screen first then the problem showed up again...so they replaced the whole phone.

So everything youve said doesnt fall into what im talking about.
nothing is on me...i keep very good care of my iPhones and i know more about them than anything else...im not stupid.
i just tend to keep having problems with these refurb white ones.
so yes...pressing my luck isnt my problem..the situation isnt on me.

I actually thought you were talking about screens as well. You never mentioned where the cracks were so I think we both assumed you were talking about screen issues again.

I had a problem with my original iphone with the silent switch that made it switch between silent on and off but it kind of just fixed itself about a week later. I've occasionally made the switch flip when taking it out or putting it in my pocket, but I think that's just an issue with what I'm doing.

I've honestly never heard of these cracks happening and never had this happen to me. If they are, as you say, pressure cracks, that implies that some form of pressure put on the phone causes them. We're not saying you abuse your phone, though something you do could be putting pressure on the phone without you realizing it.

The macbook has a spot where the screen supports rest when it's closed that crack. I never had an issue with these spots till I got cats. They used to always lay on my computer which seems to have put enough pressure to make it crack. I didn't realize why it happened for a while.

We may be jumping to conclusions, but it does seem like there's a chance something is putting pressure on it that you dont realize.

ohh yeah true true but when i told apple about the switch and the cracks they asked what type of case i use and then said ohh okay when i told them.

im going to call apple CS and talk to a manager about how sick i am of getting my iPhones replaced so much for refurbished ones..maybe if my dad gets on the phone and acts mad he'll talk into 3gS...you never know..i talked to people on another forum who actually had theres replaced for a 3gS.
