I need an older one with ~100k miles and in the 90-92 year range. Looking to spend ~$3000, need it as a commuter car for an upcoming job.

3k for a 90-92 with 100k miles on it is more than enough money...I don't know if you were suggesting otherwise Toadman. We sold our 90 with 60k miles for $4k and were very happy to get that much.

I have a '90 rx-7 which I could probably do with selling... It needs a bit of a paint job but it runs like a charm and has recently replaced clutch/shocks/brake&clutch hydraulics/radiator.

Probably looking for $2500 for it. The webpage is a little out of date so ignore the mileage on it - it has 140k miles on it currently (wow - I've only put 3k miles on it since July...) http://partners.musicmatch.com/test/simon/rx7

Beautiful ride, and quite a deal IMO... I wish I had room for a 3rd toy. I suppose I would have kept my Miata instead : ). I remember Mazda had quite a problem with their 90's and that crystal white- I've seen a few Miata's with patches of white missing.

Thanks - yeah this car was my first "cool" car and what got me into the rotary addiction... Deep down I don't want to sell it but it's really just going to waste sitting around not getting driven any. You're right about the paint - those couple of spots on the roof have grown a bit larger in the 12+ months since I took the photos on the website which is a shame. It makes me regret not fixing them up as soon as I noticed them starting. I have heard that the white was a bit of a shocker as far as longevity of the paint goes.

I've seen that too... crystal white Miatas with large swaths of paint peeled off the body. However, my ol' white '91 Miata's paint has been problem-free; of course, she always wore a good coat of wax and was never grossly neglected while I had her. Once I got her back from the ex she cleaned up very nicely. See my website for her before-and-after pix.
