Simpson, of Old Bridge, N.J., is 42 years old, has two kids and a boyfriend, and she weighs 602 pounds. That's right ... 602 pounds.

She's on a diet, of course, because she has a goal in mind:

She wants to weigh 1,000 pounds.

That's right ... 1,000 pounds. It's a nice, extra-round figure — almost as big as what her unhealthy choices will ultimately cost taxpayers.

A shame they use this woman as a backdoor into a health care article. In reality she sounds suicidal, instead of making an article about her why not help her kids who are the victims here.

As stupid as we may feel she is, she does have a good point. “Simpson claims she is normal and healthy, and she has a right to eat what she wants and weigh what she wants." That's true. She does. It's her body. It's her choice. What this really shows us is why NOT to have a nationalized health care system. If she can afford that much food, she can afford health care. It's that simple. Why make us pay for it? She isn't going to live long anyways so get it over with.

^ disagree. the fattening foods are what are cheaper to afford, which is part of the problem on obesity in America. good old dollar menus at fast food restaurants.

single trip to the E.R. or 100 double cheeseburgers from McDs dollar menu?

$106.00 (with 6% sales tax)
$560 for a single trip to the E.R. (based on national average per visit rate)

100x440 cals = 44000 total calories
100x207 cals from fat = 20700 total fat calories
100x23g fat = 2300 total fat grams
100x11 sat fat = 1100 total saturated fat grams

pretty obtainable goal for pretty cheap.

thing is, she'll get national (possibly international) attention and someone will step up and "help her" get back to being thin again. doesn't matter if it's a health care system or not.

Neither you nor anyone else has a right to tell her what she can and can't eat. It's her right and freedom to choose. You don't have to like it or agree with it. She can't get to the ER if she can't get out of the house. When she's dead, she's cheap. People going out of their way to help her get thin again, when clearly that's not what she wants, only costs more money in the end. That is the very exssence of everything wrong today. Too many people want to impose their will and their standards on others. It is cheapest and easiest to let her do what she wants. Keep in mind at that size, you have an enabler who helps you get that way.

The maggots don't care. More food for them! A pine box can be built to any dimension.
