While I was driving to work today on the 60 fwy going east, on the other side of the fwy, I saw this black car. At first I thought it was a S2000, but the lights looked kindda different, then as we passed by each other, I looked in the rear mirror and the rear of the car looks just like an RX8!!

Is this possible? Could there be RX8s on the streets already? Or could it be something like a dealer car etc?! Or maybe I just had bad eyes and saw the wrong car.... Anyways, just thought I would share the excitement with you guys. :)

there've been a few sightings of road testing some concepts, adorned with bras and panties to "cover it up" (those things are so stupid...)

Well, the car I saw looked clean, no bras, no covers, just looked like a ready-to-go RX8.

Anyways, posting to let u guys know how jealous I am of the driver... ;)

I know when I was in Cali for Sevenstock (http://www.sevenstock.org) there were at least 3 or 4 in the secured paddock area, where the public had no access.

Word is of course there are SEVERAL in the Laguna Seca area for testing and for magazine trials.

Maybe some of you even saw this .... RX-8s on the street in Monterrey (http://www.rx7club.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=144279&highlight=rx8)

any bets that those are the ones that ended up at naias and la auto show?;)

actually my word is that they are probably different... seems the "test fleet" is almost totally loaned out.. the ones at the L.A. AS are indeed headed to other auto shows.. the X-men car is of course in JApan already..

in fact the Mazda contact I have here in Houston was practacally begging to get one of those 53 cars here for the week... just for the show.. since our car got ganked and will be heading to St. Louis.. (last min deal) Houston Auto Show...


Heck the...Houston Auto Show website even thinks they are getting one.. and I knew it wasn't gonna be there before they posted it was gonna be there.!

ahh but the photos in that link were taken 12/29/02. and since there was a red, black and titanium one( thats what it looks like to me in those pics, not silver) i think i could win that bet:D

good point.... your probably right... I guess they had plenty of time to get them back and clean em up... undercarriage and all..
