I was thinking this would be a good opportunity for an RX8 get together in Chicago in April- I'm signed up for April 17th... I believe the event is in the Arlington area. Who else is going?

If you don't know about it-> http://mazdarevitup.com/

I thought about it, but I have school all day Saturday and I can't manage to cut out all day Sunday... when I've been gone all day Saturday. Sigh.

Perhaps I can just cut out of class early that day. :)

So did you guys go last year? How'd you do/what did you think?

Anyone heard what the 3's are like this year?

I want to go.....but maybe just to watch and drive go Karts etc. I don't think I need to sign up for that.

I signed up for the 17. I wished they let us drive 8's instead of 3's. It still will be a lot of fun.

Cool. A black and a red and both with that 3rd brake light thing. Not that I'm marketing that mod...

Any way. What's nice is we'll both have them waxed up with the NXT.

Do you know if we will be able to actually do some of the events too? I wonder where we get to park at. I didn't ask bbmiata a lot of questions about stuff yet. I'm also going to be ini the St. Louis date the following weekend too.

It will be a sweet display, that's for sure. I've been signed up for a while, so I'm planning on autocrossing in my time slots still. Maybe we can take turns babysitting our 8's ;)

Bummer... at least you'll have some quality highway time to open your '8 up. We'll catch you on the next event.

When are you moving up there permanently? Was it June?

That's when I'm planning to go, but I'll be visiting Chicago frequently because my girlfriend will still be here. I actually only need to be in Michigan on the 17th, maybe I should go on the 18th. When are you guys going?

Ahh... I'll be there on the 17th. Why don't you email Barb (above) and see if she needs any display cars on the 18th?

Good, that sounds like a plan. I guess I still have to register, they didn't say whether to do that of not.

The spectator part of the day is free. To go karts are $10 I think. The ride and drives are free too. The track portion is $40 and if you display your car we will have a pass for you for free. BB

NO don't register if you are displaying..come in the morning and Sarah will give you your pass (look for Sarah tall long blonde hair 21...in the enthusiast tent). Take the pass she gives you to the registration and they will sign you up on the spot and give you a time otherwise you willpay $40 online.

If that's the case, we expect to see you there! I'm going to be there on the 17th. I have to leave here at 3:30 am to get there by 6:30 am. It's too bad my 15 year old can't drive, not that I would let him even if he was 16 with a license, or at least drive my RX-8! :)

It is at Arlington Park...I still need display cars please email me to sign up:
Send me your name, email, cell phone, description of car and which day (SAT or Sun) and which city... I also need someone willing to house out Sarah for Fri and Sat night. She will be driving up from Southern Illinois.

Congrats are in order then, eh? I doubt I'll do that well- I'm too rusty from taking the last couple years off. Not to mention driving an automatic FWD, but I'll have a blast trying!

Damn. I gotta stop procrastinating. Sunday racing is full but I may still show up just to check it out. See you there...

I was told by the organizer that if you show up they have to give you a time slot, it may not be the one you want but...Since I am showing, I asked about registering and was told not to but that was their reply.
