Is the base FI map from MM safe for driving?

I was wondering if the base FI map from MazdaManiac is safe to drive with (turbo installed of course). Just want to avoid downtime while waiting for calibration.

Under certain conditions, yes. I drove my car untuned with that map. Kinda depends on what has been done to your car.

So far I just have the AEM intake on it. I bought MM greddy upgrade kit, but it hasn't arrived yet. Just want to be prepared, seems Jeff is kind of backed up with AP tune requests.

The reason why I knew it was safe was that I had put in larger injectors. WIth the larger injectors but the map set for stock, there was NO WAY it would lean out on me. In fact, it wouldn't even go into boost; it would just bog.

I would guess that if you had a larger intake, which I dont think the AEM is (I have one,) and stock injectors, there is a slight possibility that you could go lean. Maybe more than slight, but with stock bits, as long as you never go into deep boost, you are reasonably safe.

I should say that I am reasonably sure that I know what I am talking about.

Also, when did you buy the upgrade?? I too purchased said upgrade. How long have you been waiting?

of course it's safe to drive on because you need to drive with it to log data to then send to him to refine your tune. it's not meant as anything more then a starting point though, so don't run on it thinking you're doing anything magical for your car
