I used to hate it a lot
esp in Vegas where there's like 3 or 4 every block
but now
after visiting California again for a few days
I believe jay-walkers help drivers drive more safely and cautiously
What does everyone else think?
Imagine California stopped ticketing jay-walkers and started encouraging them
Everyone would drive so much slower
oh man
I need to start writing a legislative bill or something.......

Have to say, my favorite jay-walkers are the mothers who drag their toddlers into the street with them. It's one thing to put your life at risk, but not the lives of your children. For their safety, find a crosswalk.

You jaywalk in Vegas, and get hit by a car.... you are at fault.

that's right.. be careful jaywalking on the strip.... If my light's green and I mow you down, you die or go to jail. If you live, you will pay me lots of money, and pay for the repairs to my car :D :D

Correct me if I'm wrong, but

I heard in America, pedestrians have right of way no matter what, whether they make a mistake or not

wheras

In Europe, cars have the right of way as long as they don't literally break the rules...

hmm..

In downtown San Diego I frequently see people get $80 jay walking tickets for crossing the trolley tracks (not even a full street) on red. Watch yourself....
