Since when do posts in the lounge not contribute to the count???

i hear you but stopping the post counter in the lounge won't stop 85 more pages of one word posts. if thats the case they should just close the thread.

Seems like a balanced decision to me... this board should be principally about the RX-8. Posts in the Lounge don't necessarily contribute to that... nor do the endless polls we've been seeing recently. I personally view someone with 500 or 1000 posts as someone who has (forgive me for the bad pun) been around the block with the 8 and who may have experience and advice worth listening to. Keeping the post-count real adds to the Board's useability. "Senior Member" status should be earned.

agreed but if the word association thread precipitated the counter cutback then close that thread and let lounge posts still count because not all lounge posts are non rx-8 in content. ah whatever who am i to say.

It was a long time coming, guys. It just happened to get done around the time that thread took off. MEGAREDS is exactly right.

Do they subtract a post count for a stupid post, or a "Lounge" post in one of the other forums? Or maybe it should be a WORD count, then MikeB would be about the same as me. :)

Lounge and Polls posts no longer accrue. As the RX-8 ages and repair/mod issues arise we need help building a database of owners who've "been there". It's not fool-proof, but member credibility is narrrowed down when advice is needed from the "Vets".

Thats allright, I will just make up for losing these posts by continuing to post on that ridiculous thread about why the mods closed the sexual preference poll. As long as that stays in the Rx8 discussion area, I will run my count way up.
