I found this picture on an RX-8 Calender and was shocked to see only 2 doors! Does anyone know anything about this? Did they really make some 2 door models (prototypes)?

I think the 2 door in this picture looks much sleeker without the rear doors and pillors. It looks more like what the next generation of RX-7 should resemble.

No surprise...would look nice though next to an S2k...you would still have a ton of room behind you though if the dimensions remained roughly the same and it was a 2-seater considering the engine and tranny are so mid-mounted.

now that would be sweet. i like having the 4 doors (insurance cheaper thanks to those bad boys) but the 2 door would look much more aggressive

That is awesome. I'd love to add a real 2 door 2 seat RX8 to my stable. I don't think it would be wrong to call it RX7. Shoot, just tune it like Canzoomer does, but from the factory and I bet it's performance is better than the FD. Ok...no more talk about a future RX7. There is so much BS floating around.

I think that droptop looks nice! My insurance company calls my 8 a 2-door and can't change it in their system. I wonder if that costs me more....

How knows maybe someday this could be a reality! It would be really cool if they could come up with an 8 convertible that would still accomodate the four doors and four passengers. :D :cool: This way all the women could just jump in the car without even having to stop! :)

The wheel base should definitely b shortened on that 2 door. Save weight and IMO better looks. Other than that i would say that this looks even better than the rx7 concept pics that have been floating around.

Damn that covertible and 2-door look pretty damn sweet... the conv. looks really nice.

if you guys didn't notice. that car is a s2000 with just the rx-8 back. i guarentee you if you get the same angle with the s2000 and compare that's the exact same car, just photoshoped

...yeah they just added in the mazda rims, the fender flares, headlight, front air damn, hood, and side mirrors. other than that, its an S2000.
