I'm looking for a good quality body kit for my black rx8, I was looking at the Mazda Speed, R-Magic, and the vertex. Stuck on which one to get. So I thought I would get other peoples opinions. Haven't been a fan of body kits, Just because of the fact, that fiberglass can crack so easily.. but they do look real nice on rx8's.

fiberglass does crack easily. i cracked my sideskirt on some ice a few weeks ago. :/

Since your mot a fan of bodykits, you should go for a burnout or shine lip kit

What's the difference between those and the ones I posted earlier? Not trying to be rude or anything.

Don't seem to bulky, look more slick I notice. Anybody know where you can buy Burnout lip kits? Carbon fiber kits are better then fiberglass ones correct?

my experience is mixed, Ive had aftermarket glass parts for several cars, the parts for 8 have been of the best quality and durability, that came a greater cost but still, they have been very durable. My new Autoexe bumper has been hit several times by road debris including retreads. There have been two instances where I kringed and looked for the nearest area to pull off expecting there to be severe damage but havent had any cracks or breaks. Also have had a fair share of parking space barriers and high speed bumps... I do have scrape marks on the underside of my chin but thats it,,,

All of the ones you mentioned are made well, it really comes down to what look your going for,,,

mazdaspeed is pretty penny.

So I was thinking on the mazdaspeed front end, and going with the r-magic for the back. Not sure about the side skirts.

Vertex + Black is like Sex on the Beach.... you dont know what you are missing out on. Search for FEP3S.... his car was super sick! Or just go to the VERTEX club website... his car is on there.

Not crazy about the Vertex. The Mazdaspeed is the cleanest of them all. Really smooth. I like the R-Magic as well though. As far as Fiberglass is concerned, just gotta be careful! Cracks are gonna happen though

lol! Alu, Thanks for all the help man! How long does it normally take to get body kits? Assuming most of the rx8 body kits, are going to come from Japan.

depends how much you want to spend on shipping, you can have it flown in which is super expensive, or you can wait anywhere from 1-3 months by boat,,,

if your impatient like me... air mail it.. its worth it...lol

My R-magic kit was airmailed from japanparts...once the order was shipped it took only 4 days to get :wiggle:

Keeping the same color or going another route?

I'm not sure, I have a 2007 black rx8 now, with custom cherry flames coming up from the front end, I really like it. When the sun is out you can really see it, looks really cool. But like on a cloudy day can't see it. I got pictures of it if you want to check it out, http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3814457 And go to page 4, Maybe thinking about getting it painted black again, and having the cherry flames come up onto the hood more, and on the sides of the car. As you'll see in the pictures they end at the front of the hood.

^^^ Those flames are awesome... I would add more like you said.. and possibly do your engine covers to match (well your ecu and fuse covers...lol)

How would I do the engine cover? Like the ecu n stuff.. I need to make my engine bay look better, I got aftermarket radiator hoses installed, but can't even tell I did, because there black lol

Well you can either paint the covers or get them in carbon like I did...

mr.west... it cost me about $500, they aren't wrapped... its actually CF pieces that cover the covers

A better picture of the cherry flames, just took the left picture today :) But see you can only see those flames if you have a light on it, So not sure if I should do the same design but have it go more up on the hood and the sides, or make the cherry flames pop out more, more noticeable.
