So far while I've been driving I've been told they thought I had some kind of new "Lexus" and someone thought I was driving a "Viper". Nothing there to be ashamed of I guess. :) What about anyone else?

most people that ask have no idea what it is. and i have to repeat it a couple or 3 times before they seem to understand and then most still walk away with a sort of confused look on their face. especially when they ask how many cylinders it has and i say "none. it's a rotary engine"

yes! I get that a lot too. Everyone wants to be "hugged" by the car.:D

They think its some kind of spaceship :D

The good thing is that the young and old act like children when looking and asking about the car. :)

My mom asked me if it was another Audi (because I owned an A4 a few years ago). My brother thought it was a Mercedes.

One said Viper, another said Infiniti?? and another said Lexus. All good ones to be compared too!!

Some guy thought it was the car from the Bond flick!!

i havent had anybody really ask me yet but at a red light one time some kid stuck his head out the window and took a picture of it with his camera phone.

just sent a note to my parents, i have grown up and bought a new car. it has 4 doors and seats 4...

i also mention i was now a mature adult..bet they think i bought a buick.

I am the only one on Fort Knox (army base).So i get questioned alot. Most have asked if it is a kit car. They also ask can i sit in it.

Hey one of the reasons I bought mine was cause I've driven Saturn SC2's for a while now and the new ION was horrible, but the RX-8 seemed like a souped up agressive version of what the SC2 could of been. Suicide doors and everything ;) so I can understand that.

It seems to me that people either have no idea (esp those who only see cars as a mode of transpotation) or they know right away (clued in people who ask immediately about the rotary).

Well yea :) and a $12,000 higher sticker price too, so I would hope so! but I agree 100%!!!!

Of course 3 saturns with over 50 thousand miles on each and no work done on them other then oil changes. Not bad for a cheap little car.

I wouldn't trade my Mazda for anything in the world though!

i had a saturn SC with 146,000 miles on it, only had to replace the head gasket once... nothing else except for minor maintenance. ( i hope the 8's run like this )

i would never knock saturns they are great cars ESP for what they cost.

I get a lot of Alfa Romeo Vanquish or DB7 comments.

Pulled over, cop thought I was a 360 Modena.

ive heard that question alot. i have not seen that freakin' commercial!!!

The 8 is still very rare in Oz: you can drive for days even in Sydney without seeing one.

I have de-badged mine, so when people ask what it is and I say Mazda, a couple of times they've replied "don't you mean Mazdarati?"

Are Maseratis being imported into the U.S. currently? The 3500 is gorgeous.

i asked the detail shop that cleans my car to debadge mine, he was afraaid to so he didnt. was nervous about how it was on & what was underneath i guess. we took the dealership logo off but that was it. are they just glued on like most?

I was asked if it was an M6 ... WTF!!?
