So far while I've been driving I've been told they thought I had some kind of new "Lexus" and someone thought I was driving a "Viper". Nothing there to be ashamed of I guess. :) What about anyone else?

View Full Version : What do people think your car is? Sea Ray 01-22-2004, 02:22 PM They ask if that is the car that 'hugs' you. Then they want to see both doors open :) Cerestes 01-22-2004, 02:52 PM They ask if that is the car that 'hugs' you. Then they want to see both doors open rofl yes! I get that a lot too. Everyone wants to be "hugged" by the car.:D Shooter 01-22-2004, 02:56 PM They think its some kind of spaceship :D PHA RX-8 01-22-2004, 02:59 PM The good thing is that the young and old act like children when looking and asking about the car. :) jtimbck2 01-22-2004, 03:33 PM My mom asked me if it was another Audi (because I owned an A4 a few years ago). My brother thought it was a Mercedes. cruzdreamer 01-22-2004, 03:48 PM One said Viper, another said Infiniti?? and another said Lexus. All good ones to be compared too!! TiRX8 01-22-2004, 04:13 PM Some guy thought it was the car from the Bond flick!! pmacwill 01-22-2004, 04:21 PM one guy thought mine was a mazda RX-GR8 01-22-2004, 04:24 PM i havent had anybody really ask me yet but at a red light one time some kid stuck his head out the window and took a picture of it with his camera phone. swoope 01-23-2004, 04:29 AM just sent a note to my parents, i have grown up and bought a new car. it has 4 doors and seats 4... i also mention i was now a mature adult..bet they think i bought a buick. beers Holly 01-23-2004, 06:17 AM I am the only one on Fort Knox (army base). So i get questioned alot. Cerestes 01-23-2004, 03:54 PM I got BMW and Saturn lol I had to chuckle at that one. Hey one of the reasons I bought mine was cause I've driven Saturn SC2's for a while now and the new ION was horrible, but the RX-8 seemed like a souped up agressive version of what the SC2 could of been. Suicide doors and everything ;) so I can understand that. Senseny 01-24-2004, 02:12 AM It seems to me that people either have no idea (esp those who only see cars as a mode of transpotation) or they know right away (clued in people who ask immediately about the rotary). jtimbck2 01-24-2004, 10:59 AM Originally posted by Cerestes ...the RX-8 seemed like a souped up agressive version of what the SC2 could of been. Cerestes 01-24-2004, 03:48 PM You forgot build quality in that list of what Mazda has over Saturn...oh, and attractive styling! Well yea :) and a $12,000 higher sticker price too, so I would hope so! but I agree 100%!!!! Of course 3 saturns with over 50 thousand miles on each and no work done on them other then oil changes. Not bad for a cheap little car. I wouldn't trade my Mazda for anything in the world though! brothervoodoo 01-24-2004, 04:08 PM Originally posted by TiRX8 Some guy thought it was the car from the Bond flick!! Women seem to like it though :D Cerestes 01-24-2004, 06:54 PM Don't you mean wouldn't!! Ack! Yes! Wouldn't! Nada, zip, zilch, zero ... there is not another vehicle I'd rather have, Lotus Elise, Porsche, Lambourghini ... nope I'll keep my 8 thank you very much. fxdsconv2000 01-24-2004, 07:34 PM I figured as much :) And I totaly agree!!!!!! I love my 8. Takashi 7 01-24-2004, 11:23 PM Most people have no Idea what kind of car it is, they just know that they like it and want one. I've had several people flag me down at the store or mall parking lot just to ask me about the car. itsallaboutgary 01-24-2004, 11:28 PM it was funny..someone said *this is the new miata right* ALWAZL8 01-24-2004, 11:41 PM I've heard Porshe and BMW. I also love the looks you get when people ask "how many cylinders" and you tell 'em "none - it's a rotary". :D idle0ne 01-25-2004, 02:41 PM i had a saturn SC with 146,000 miles on it, only had to replace the head gasket once... nothing else except for minor maintenance. ( i hope the 8's run like this ) i would never knock saturns they are great cars ESP for what they cost. Omicron 01-25-2004, 04:28 PM I get a lot of Alfa Romeo Vanquish or DB7 comments. stangmatt66 01-26-2004, 12:48 PM Pulled over, cop thought I was a 360 Modena. I have de-badged mine, so when people ask what it is and I say Mazda, a couple of times they've replied "don't you mean Mazdarati?" Are Maseratis being imported into the U.S. currently? The 3500 is gorgeous. cheers from downunder jack. Monique 02-06-2004, 09:29 PM i asked the detail shop that cleans my car to debadge mine, he was afraaid to so he didnt. was nervous about how it was on & what was underneath i guess. we took the dealership logo off but that was it. are they just glued on like most?
