Does anyone know the best way to remove rubber marks off the paint (hood and bumper) off the 8? I park it in the garage and I guess my roomates are too lazy to "lift" their laundry baskets above the hood so they'd rather just have it rub against the hood. The result is some type of soft-looking rubber streak. I can use my finger nail to scratch at it but that'd just take a long long time.

Also, is this type of rubber scraping, a potentially bad thing? I mean, does it cause damage to the paint in the long run?

You can use mineral (spelling?) spirits. Just take a small amount on a soft cloth rub it on and then it will disolve. Then go over with a damp cloth of water. It will not remove paint.

I think you need to have a "sit down" with your roomates.

Try some quick detailer and a clay bar. Use a very small piece and make sure the area is WELL lubricated. It should take the rubber marks off with no problems.

First, chat with your roomates! :)

Then use 3M adhesive remover. I have yet to see a material that it doesn't remove! And no damage to your paint.

What about damage to the finish (Zaino for me)? I think the clay bar is the best approach. It should remove everything on top of the finish with put effecting the finish itself.

First....SMACK your roommates, then grab a handful of hair, if they have no hair, then the backs of their necks, drag them down to the car, drive them to their knees and put their noses 3mm from the marks and ask them, ever so politely if they notice something out of place?

If they don't get the picture, I recommend tying them to a chair, strapping their head in a fixed position, using a pair of needle nose pliers, slowly yank the hairs out ot their noses, one-by-one. When their nostrils are bald, repeat the original process of bringing them to the car.

Repeat and rinse as necessary until desired results are obtained!

I would say use some Meguiars body scrub it will take that out in seconds. Its clear coat safe and won't damage your paint at all.

when your roommates are on the couch watching TV...(kinda like your 8 sitting in the garage)...run YOUR laundry basket right over their head...and don't say anything either...cause they obviously didn't say anything to you....just keep walking...

yea like WTF? they don't even tell you afterwards?!
oh and after you run their head over with the basket, tell them "OH I"M SORRY, here, let me help you clean that mark off" and proceed to rub their face and eyes with mineral spirits. Then buff to a shine with a clean separate 100% terry cloth towel.
