You know, it would be nice to let your kids read and research stuff about this great car (RX-8), but all this filthy stuff on the site makes it not a practical place for anybody with any morals at all!

Nominally, I'd say F- the moderator.
But, I am an instigator and will provoke people just because it is better than the alternative.

Morality is action, not language. If you feel that your kids morality is being challenged by the things they read, then your kids have a bigger problem than profanity in their daily literary diet.

If this site allows such garbage as cussing and sexual preferences, then I should have the right to express my opinion about the things listed below. My kids are just fine, thank you, and will be much better off without being exposed to filth.

You both can express your thoughts. Thats what the site owner decided. However, dont expect anything to change because YOU want it.

your kids will learn morality far better through good parenting than any other way...keeping them from being exposed to "real life" will only make them ignorant...sorry, but you're right...good riddance...

I would suggest that you contact a moderator if you are concerned or offended by a poll. That way, you don't bring even more ugliness into the forum. Could you please pm me with the poll you're referring to? Either it's not there anymore or I'm blind (either of which is possible). I don't have any reported posts, so you didn't go that route either. And please remember, especially if this was just posted, we moderators are VOLUNTEERS, and like most of you, have real jobs and real lives, so we can't fix everything the instant it happens. For example, I'm using my lunch break at the moment to try and figure out what's going on.

Now, I'm not saying we'll get rid of whatever it is- but it will be judged on it's own merits.

And all of you, please don't turn this into a flame thread. The guy has a valid concern. This not the time or the place to discuss other people's feelings of morality or religious preferences.

Aside from it being a pretty stupid poll anyway (not like those are all that uncommon around here! ;) ), the poll starter should have at least been intelligent enough to figure out that it doesn't qualify as 'RX-8 Discussion' and belongs in the 'Lounge' with all the other stupid polls! :D

I don't want to be mean but we are in the 21 century. I don't agree with the cussing but about sexual preference what does it matter? You wont be able to shield your kids from society for ever. When I post things about sexual preference I put it in the lounge young kids should even be entering the lounge before you complain about this forum tell your kids what they can go in and what they cant on the forum.

I agree with some of your statements but you then inject your religious views into the issue, I suspect many have reservations against you idealogical statements. You just lost credibility IMO..

Reassessing and restating my position. As jtimbk2 pointed out to me, the original post was meant to be derogatory to gays, and that I will not tolerate. The entire thing is now gone. If someone wants to post a poll about who is gay, straight, or bi, that is fine. However, this was not the case, at least that's how it appeared and THAT is why the post is now removed. And now that I've wasted half my lunch on this, I'm going to go try and salvage the rest.

It seems to me that the lounge is for adults. All the other threads talk about the car...mechanics...features....mods..etc. I dont remember much swearing/cussing in those threads..and EVEN this thread isnt BAD by far. Not compared to 1000's of other forums. Just dont read the lounge unless your home by yourself. its simple

There is no place for that here. Its a waste of time, and if your open minded, there is no point in YELLING THE faith..believe in god..if thats what you want..but dont talk about it in public. Its like me saying..I DONT CARE about X Y Z ...I just dont talk about it..thats fine, its your personal preference..I respect that, but stating passages from the book, is just making yourself look bad. The site has allocated a place for these kinds of posts. I think the only real issues is it was started in the wrong forum. I think everyone has the right to express their opinion but this stuff belongs in the lounge.

I am not very religious but I 'personally' (MHO) would rather listen to religious stuff than gay stuff!

It's fine to talk about it, it is not fine to slam and insult someone for their beliefs. Yelling at Fastrunner for what he believes in isn't going to make him change his mind about anything. And with that, I'm closing this thread before it gets any uglier.
