So last Thursday, I purchased a used 2005, Sunlight Silver Metallic, 6spd RX8 with 34,xxx miles on it....I think it's the sport version, with some add ons....got to say I'm really lovin' it so far....I came from a 2007 350z, so this was a drastic change....I'm in the bay area, so eager to meet some fellow 8 owners, etc....will try to post pics eventually...

Well I've always been someone to enjoy the twisty roads, more than a straight line....so I chose the 350z a few years ago....that car was great...great usable power, great handling, good styling, etc....however it wasn't practical at all....so last year I sold my Z so I could save up for some other things....luckily I live near enough to the BART and buses to get to school and work, so have been relying on public transportation for a year or so....so a few weeks ago, I decided I needed a car again, lol...so I've always liked the rx8 looks, and have heard many great things about the handling and the wonders of the triangular engine...so I test drove a few, and fell in love with it...was on craigslist 2 weeks ago and came across a good deal and voila......rx8 is a great platform, and has a usable trunk, "rear" seats, and that feeling of a sports car, which I never really felt with the z....

Welcome, I recently bought an RX-8 as well. Best car I've ever owned once I got over the mpgs. I'm in the North Bay. Maybe we can get a meet going for the Bay Area?

Ha, I just noticed you had a tC, that's what I traded in for the RX. I'm in the midst of selling all my old aftermarket parts on Scionlife. I almost bought a Z last year to boot...great minds think a like!

Nice, hope to see at the track. I do 6-10 HPDEs per year but I don't see that many other RX8s at the local tracks here (Thunderhill, Buttonwillow, Sears Point, etc.).

I was thinking of going to Infineon this April maybe I'll see you there.

My next two track days will probably be these at Buttonwillow:
Apr 9: http://www.cccbmwcca.org/BMW/High_Performance_Driving_School.html
Apr 10: http://www.speedventures.com/events/eventdetail.aspx?id=279

What's the event at Infineon?

yeah, dependent on work and such I should be able to get a few track days this year....are there any local roads that are good for some scenic/spirited drives? It's my second year here in the bay area but haven't really explored any good roads yet...
