Anyone looking forward to this game? release is on the 26th.

I went out and bought another copy of ME1 and have been playing that just to get some characters to import into ME2. I forgot how good the game is.

I was one of the few game testers for it and they finally gave me the OK to throw up some screen caps. :)

We don't really have to ask, do we?

And who here wants some spoilers? (Skip this post if you don't want to see it)

Normandy gets destroyed right in the first 10 mins of the game.
Shepard gets killed right at the beginning of the game.
Shepard gets revived by the notorious Cerberus group (terrorist group)
The Citadel/Council covered up the Reaper case so that no panic would be spread among the citizens.
Citadel then scraps project.
So now, you have to rely on the terrorist group to fund your Reaper hunt.
They stole blueprints to the Normandy and made the SR2.
You can recruit Tali, and Garrus from the first Mass Effect.
You then recruit a crapload more people.
They have a bug where you can't transfer your old data from Mass Effect 1. Will be resolved in the first patch.
You then discover that the Collectors (bug looking aliens) are kidnapping colonists for the new reaper.
You discover that the Geth are actually good guys.
You recruit a Geth.
You then go to the Omega 4 Relay and go to the Collector's base.
You discover a Reaper there.
You kill the reaper.
Garrus dies in the process... well at least for me he did. So did Tali.
You can either destroy the Reaper/Collector base or keep it for study, I destroyed it.
There will be a Mass Effect 3, it even said so at the end of the game and in between loading scenes near the final battle.

You actually have ammo this time unlike the first one. The guns never over heat

Oh yeah, only the Cerberus server is up right now and there are already new content available for download. :)

Are you talking about the team from the first one? The blue chick (forgot her name) becomes something like the Shadow Broker and she now resides on Ilium, Wrex is dead, Kaiden is dead, Ashly goes back to the Alliance, the doctor from the Med Bay decided to join the terrorist group (with you), Garrus became senile and hates the world, Tali becomes really respectable, and Shepard dies, he basically falls into the atmosphere, burns up. He then gets revived by cutting edge technology and then realizes that he's been in dead for 2 years. He gets stripped of his Specter status because everyone thought he was dead, the Council refuses to see him because he is now working for a terrorist group, Cerberus.

I want to play Mass Effect 3....

Oh, and Joker gets recruited by Cerberus, the SR2 now have an AI (which is illegal in the universe of Mass Effect) called EDI, and there's a lot of cursing in the game. :)

What you just said made absolutely no sense to me what so ever....lol. I don't follow mass effect at all, but they have an advertisement out for the second one where they use this big gun that shoots this black hole type thing and a few soldiers get sucks in it. Then the....bug looking sniper guy says..."ever wonder where they go"? Then another one says..."I never really thought about it". Then it shows a toilet and you can hear the voices of the soldiers that got sucked in. I just thought it was a pretty funny advertisement.

Sweet tomorrow!! I've been meaning to play through ME1 again, but since I didn't get around to it I guess I'll just Wikipedia how the first one ended before I jump in to ME2

I don't think you would be totally lost. The developers would be shooting themselves in the foot if that were the case. There may be some references to past events and people which may not make sense. If you don't import a saved game from ME1, it assumes certain big decisions for you.

I'd do some reading about the ME1, or just watch IGN's Mass Effect in 5 minutes video:

Yeah, after checking out both recently, I'm now thinking it would be worthwhile to pick up the first and run through it before jumping into 2 to get the most out of it.

They took away my equipment screen :( So far the game is amazing though.

Mass Effect was, by far, one of my favorite games in a long, long time. I will be holding off on the second since I have less time for gaming these days and still have a bunch of old games I haven't finished. (And I mean a bunch, as I haven't finished GTA4, Bioshock, Oblivion or even Rainbow Six Vegas . . . #1 :eek:)


With that said . . . Why play the second without playing the first? You can grab the first for $10 on ebay by now and it's just an awesome game.

this game is so amazing. im not even just a few hours in, and i love the game. they took something really amazing and just made it 10 times better. like how you can send probes down to mine planets. thats a cool mini game. you scan the planets manually to find where the elements are and shoot a probe to that area. also i LOVE "flying" the normandy around the map. that cracked me up so much.

this game is everything i thought it would be. and when i found archangel, man, i got so happy. i was like FUCKK YESSSSSSS.

the story is epic.

(bioshock is worth finishing.)

I'll get through them all eventually. Then I'll buy a used copy of ME2 for $10. lol

Bioshock looks intense. I basically started it and loved it but haven't thrown it back in again. That one I bought for the missus b/c she loves those super creepy style games where nasty things come jumping out at you.

Oblivion & GTA4 are just so massive that I barely make a dent when I play . . . might have to toss GTA back in tonight. At some point I'll be back in the black and maybe I'll give the missus a plane ticket to visit some friends for a few days . . . lol

Played through Kasumi DLC mission last night, damn is this game awesome

I finished ME1 like 2 weeks ago with a lvl 49 vanguard, haven't gotten around to starting ME2 yet but I like how you can replay the game with your same equipment, but the enemies are scaled to be harder.

One thing I found is that the pistol is the best weapon in the game.
