There's a communication problem. HDMI to the cable or sat then that to the TV. Sometimes cables are bad out the box so maybe get another one and try it.

That means the signal going into the TV is lower resolution than 1080. Possibly 720, 480 or standard TV(dont know offhand the res). If its from a cable/satelite box, check the settings with THAT remote. Also if you used a standard coaxial cable to connect it, it will automatically downgrade the signal to standard signal size(NOT HD). It MUST be connected with S-video, HDMI or composite(red, blue, green) to send a full HD signal to the TV. :)

No problem, good luck :)
You'd be suprised how many times I've gone to a friend/family members house and they are like"Check out my new HD TV! Isnt the picture great?!"
I"ll go "Um..that looks kidna grainy, you sure its in HD? "
They'll always respond "Oh yea, its as high as it goes, this TV rocks!"
I"ll ask to see the remote and change the cable box from 480 to 1080...
..."OMG! What did you do?! That looks WAY better!"
