This is why street racing is really bad.

A dumb driver caused this accident because he was trying to show off. (http://www.entuscan.com/Files/idiotcrash.mpeg)

Yeah but it looks like he drove up there on purpose. He wasn't going fast at all, he just turned and drove up the embankment.

Perhaps he forgot to engage his brain before releasing the clutch.

Don't ask me what I thing about street racing because you don't want to know. It's a good thing an innocent bystander did not get hurt but if the guy driving got hurt I couldn't care less. Street racing puts innocent people at risk.

didn't quite seem like he was racing at all (made obvious by the fact that he was the only car on the road)...looks like he was trying to drift or something to that extent cuz there was no reason for him to make that left...you can see him hit the breaks momentarily before going onto the grass but then he lets off for some reason...i'd suspect he was intoxicated, or even more realistically, he's just a moron

ps - you can also hear a girl in the background commenting how he just got the car "back" which leads me to believe this isn't the first time he's had a run in with an inanimate parked object

This is my rant on drunk driving and street racing. You do it and die you deserve it. Call me insensitive if you want but I don’t care. I was young too once upon a time so I’ve been there and had the chance to do that, but I chose not to. I have never gotten behind the wheel of a car drunk in my life and I’m 40 now and have had my license since I was 15. For that matter, I have never been drunk in my life nor have I taken drugs.

I don’t need a controlled substance in my blood stream to have fun so I have no tolerance for those that do. It makes me ill when I see people driving around with messages on my their cars saying “in loving memory of so and so” who died street racing or while driving drunk, or a road side memorial where some kid went slamming into a tree or light pole at 100 MPH. That’s just plain stupid…and a stupid way to die.

Hundreds of innocent people lose their lives each year as a result of those that speed, drive drunk, and street race. The families of the innocent people whose loved ones lost their lives are the ones I feel sorry for.

There are times when I'm driving home late at night on the freeway and see guys racing fly by me at 100 MPH. You know goes though my mind when I see that? I hope you crash is what goes through my mind.

Drive smart and stay alive.

Ok, but I still fail to see what anything in that video has to do with streetracing or drunk driving. :p

repost from the RX-7 forum.. This video has been floating around the net for quite sometime. And kids wonder why their insurance rates are so high???

We call this severe oversteer. For those that don't know I had a 575hp '91 Toyota Mr2 and this is the exact reason that I couldn't let anyone drive it. It was real easy to give it too much gas and have the rear end come around on you. This guy obviously doesn't have that much hp but it also looks like he knows how to drive it even less. My guess is he just didn't know how to control the car. You can see that he had the brakes on but he didn't try to control his steering. And yes the other guys are lucky he didn't hurt anyone. He's lucky I wasn't the one parked where the Jetta was...

That's the vid were he was trying to do a donut in the street to showoff and smashes into that bodykitted Jetta.
Did anyone else notice it was a TDI (Turbo Desiel) that the guy had done up! :D

Stupid guy in the Mr2 though.

yup, it's an oldie.

but anyways, yeah, he was trying to do a 180 or something, and apparently this kid didn't have his licence, or was only 16 or something (so the story goes), and obviously played way too much ridge racer (is what i think).

You pays yer money and you takes yer chances, but unfortunately these morons all too often take down innocents with them.

If this wasn't racing, it certainly was a demonstration of some kind, witness the audience that was immediately onscene (all youngsters.) I get so sick of the Rites of Spring here in San Diego, and surely throughout the country, kids killing themselves just for some stoopid display of power. It picks up in spring when the high school seniors see that Light at the End of the Tunnel. Unfortunately, its that light you're not supposed to go towards.

Here in San Diego, or perhaps throughout CA, they've recently made it illegal to gather for the purpose of watching illegal street racing. Enforcement of this is clever: The cops don't go and bust up the scene, they just tape it. The next morning, while the kids are still in sleepyland, the cops show up at their parents house, roust 'em outta bed, confiscate kid and car and take 'em downtown in handcuffs. This little display ensures they round of more of 'em plus embarrasses the hell outa their parents making them less supportive than just getting a call like "Dad, come bail me out!"

With any luck, this will save the lives a few kids this spring with this tactic.

Repost. Anyway, having big rwhp in an MR2 means you get oversteer on power and because of the mid-engine, oversteer when you lift.

This guy was just a retard.

Okay... open thine eyes.

Show of excessive speed (burning rubber or chirping the tires) on a public road is considered street racing in the eyes of the local constabulary. He was chirping or causing the tires to break traction and gave it too much gas. Looks like he may have been trying to do some drifting. The ass end started slipping to the right and he failed to turn his car in the direction of the slip/skid (right) and being as inexperienced as he is (and it shows) he over corrected it and the car veered left. At that point he was just along for the ride.

Like everyone said he is damn lucky he diid't wind up on the 11:00 news............as a statistic. And everyone wonders why insurance rates go thru the roof!

I never said he wasn't breaking laws, and the local authorities may be able to construe it so it's street racing... However, until I see him actually racing another car, or even against time, it's just some kid being a moron in a car that he can't handle very well.

What a bozo! It looks like he had never driven before! I made several judgment errors in my youth, too, but I at least could handle a car. I think 8_wannabe's story abou the San Diego police could really wake some people up (figuratively speaking) with out anyone getting hurt or in more serious trouble.

All I can say is drivers like this prove Darwin's theory. Its just a shame when idiot or drunk drivers hurt innocent people. All too often the ass comes through just fine while the family driving by in their sedan get decimated.
