View Full Version : Best way to order RE AMEMIYA parts?
RX8pwnage 01-08-2010, 09:43 PM I dont know japanese, so i can read about half their website. Looks like to me you cannot order directly from website. Ive emailed RE AMEMIYA before concerning parts and never received a response. I see they have a phone# listed....do they have people who speak english?
So...if you have ordered directly from them before, please tell me about your experience! Thanks!!
JinDesu 01-08-2010, 09:46 PM You could try Japanparts.com. They are a little more capable in responding in english.
05rex8 01-08-2010, 09:46 PM japanparts.com
they are also a forum vendor
edit: damn; too slow
RE.swenka.RX8 11-18-2010, 07:46 PM Maybe this is a little late of a reply but I have emailed RE Amemiya numerous times considering their parts and services and have always received a reply. Just recently was yesterday when I asked them about their ECU flash and tips on tuning and they replied immediately. Actually was very helpful because he gave me a list of things to get 280 rwhp. I will be ordering a lot after tax return next year. :)
DocBeech 11-18-2010, 08:30 PM oh god what kind of things lol
WRCfan 11-20-2010, 03:40 AM RE-Amemiya don't have anyone that speaks English (pity for an international company). I know they have a global site which is in English (if I am not wildly imagining things). Organising everything with them in Japanese was a true test for myself as a non-native speaker of Japanese.

What did they say to buy to reach 280whp?
Jedi54 11-20-2010, 11:40 AM pdxhak: I can only imagine it's this?

pdxhak 11-20-2010, 12:13 PM $7200 USD for the Greddy kit? UGH. I still want to see the list of parts. For some reason I think it will be an expensive list ;)
DocBeech 11-20-2010, 06:37 PM thats for an automatic only just a heads up...
Bigbacon 11-20-2010, 07:03 PM 4 speed auto only.
laythor 11-20-2010, 09:20 PM They gave him a link to a used evo x. Lol
RE.swenka.RX8 11-21-2010, 09:39 AM What did they say to buy to reach 280whp?
First of all, whoever said RE Amemiya doesn't have anyone to help them that speaks english doesn't know what they're talking about and hasn't taken the time to look on there site because it has a link for email inquiries in english. Just look again and then you can email them, they are very friendly and helpful.
With that said, here is a copy of the email they sent me. It has nothing to do with a turbo kit, this is all NA and is expensive. In case some of you didn't know RE Amemiya has a service to where you can mail your ECU to them and they will flash it.
"Hello again
My pleasure I will give you some tuning tips.
280 Rear wheel HP costs expensive.
1. ECU Upgrade
2. Side ported motor
3. RE Super EX tail pipe.
4. RE Super header
5. RE Super mid pipe
6. RE Super Intake box
7. Final gear upgrade
So 1 st step
1. ECU Upgrade and Rear Final Drive combination.
This can give you around 220-230 RHP, but much better than the stock. Very cost effective.
Around 200,000 JPY or so.
If your budget allows , we will give you more suggestions.
Regards"
In case you're wondering from the parts list, I asked them what RE Amemiya parts they suggested because that's all I plan on using. May be expensive as hell, but I feel worth it. Not going cheap on my 8. :)
RE.swenka.RX8 11-21-2010, 10:35 AM Also, if you would like to see an RX8 running with these mods check out Best Motoring Hot Version vol. 105. It will give you an idea of what to expect in the power department.
DocBeech 11-21-2010, 06:13 PM oh ok, so no turbo, but they want you to buy a new engine lol.
RE.swenka.RX8 11-22-2010, 09:39 AM oh ok, so no turbo, but they want you to buy a new engine lol.
If you have an RX8 you know that the Renesis' exhaust ports are on the side, therefore they are indicating that those exhaust ports need to be ported.
This person is Japanese and english isn't his first language, so sometimes you need to have an open mind when communicating.
:pfanndina
nycgps 11-22-2010, 10:52 AM a Ported Renesis is possible. its been done and proven to have a significant increase in power.
but mind you, you can do the same thing by going with Racing Beat, it will be cheape than going to RE-Amemiya for sure. RB sells the porting template and ECU update. or if u don't know how to port, they can do it for u for a fee. not saying Re-Amemiya is not good/better than Rb. RE-Amemiya makes one of the fastest race cars in Japan. but bang for buck you might wanna go RB.
but going 280 rwhp with NA is really pushing it. and I seriously don't think the car will be street legal (its gonna be f-ing loud so you gonna get a ticket every 2 blocks)
RotaryTherapy 11-22-2010, 11:46 AM RB's "ECU FLASH" is garbage.

I agree with you, that's why I am leaving out the porting part. I don't want to go that hardcore. I have already been putting together a list of parts to subsitute for the RE Amemiya parts, just having trouble finding any hp gains for them. I am thinking about going with the HKS Racing Suction Reloaded Intake kit. Just not sure if it will help or hurt hp gains. With being HKS and costing $600 I would think help, but I want to make sure. RE Amemiya's intake costs over $1000 and uses a K&N airfilter.
I thought about the Racing Beat intake but it claims only 3.5hp gain. Either way, I have always been a fan of HKS and will probably go with it and get the Racing Beat REVi air duct.
I will probably just go with the RE Amemiya ECU Flash, Final Drive and Muffler then the rest from other brands.
pdxhak 11-23-2010, 10:16 AM If you do more research you will see getting much over 200 whp with NA mods and tuning is not likely. Two members here have 220whp on a mustang dyno. Race teams are getting 260 - 270 at the crank.
