Arcane 01-18-2004, 10:36 AM hello, i've been poking my head around these forums for a while...this is actually my first started thread. so, i'll use it to say hi and what not.
i don't have an 8 yet, but will be buying one in the next few months (decided on a black 8 with sport package).
anyways, on to the subject - i saw the Mazda speed bodykit and it's nice although i don't like the rear underspoiler. instead, i wanted to use the front lip, sideskirts, and perhaps the rear aero flares. only problem is i can't picture it. just asking for your opinions if you think this would look good. and maybe a little photoshop visual. :)
Japan8 01-18-2004, 12:11 PM OMG... I was thinking the exact same thing. But since I am much farther away from a purchase than you, I hadn't posted that idea yet.
I am thinking that it may work out ok from the side. The rear 3/4 view... I can't picture it well enough...
Photoshop anyone?

pyrospawn 01-20-2004, 07:03 AM try the virtual garage in the sticky. It won't be the best pics but would give you the general idea. I'm actually putting this on my car, from mazdaspeed bumper, side skirts and may be rear aerao flare. Still deciding
Arcane 01-20-2004, 09:46 AM i tried the virtual garage, but the angles shown aren't satisfactory. i'm trying to find out if the side skirts and rear aero flares line up, or at least come close.
i think this is the route i'm going anyways.
Japan8 01-20-2004, 10:57 AM From the look of pics... all the lines line up except the MS kit has a gray "wanna-be CF" trim along the bottom and the apperance package triangles won't. HOWEVER, since they are more triangular, there isn't much of a bottom to trim... so I am thinking it will work out.
IF you do it, post some pics for us!
D MENAC 7 01-20-2004, 11:31 AM KC_RX-8 has a Black RX-8 that has the MazdaSpeed body kit on it. If you go to this thread: http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=17849 he has posted photos from every view.
From what I can tell, the rear end is only moderately changed with the kit, just the under bumper. If I get time, I'll look at changing the rear of his photo, with his permission first, to a stock under bumper and contact you to tell me where to send it to.
Arcane 01-20-2004, 12:14 PM thanks:)

I've looked into this because i wanted to go with the factory fron air dam, rear aero flares, and the mazdaspeed side skirts. The mazdaspeed parts set about an inch lower then the factory pieces. The bigest concern you might have is the mazdaspeed parts have a 1/4" rail on the bottom thats painted a gunmetal color.

That is the "trim" that I was mentioning earlier. If you are using the MS front I don't think it'll be a problem. The rear triangles are sharply angled when compared to the MS rear... and so there isn't much of it that would get the gray "trim" if it did come together. So it just might work together.
I'd love to see the photoshop pics when finished.. PM me about them...
Japan8 01-24-2004, 12:20 AM Here's something that just occured to me...
check out the INGs's bodykit. That rear-end just might go together with the MS kit. http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19245
Either way... except for the spolier, that kit is looking good... just not sure if the front is for me though... One good thing is the INGS+1 also offers a more flexible material than FRP for their parts.
