How long do you plan on keeping your 8

just wondering how many people plan on driving their 8's into the ground or if you plan on selling them beforehand.

the reason I'm asking is because the depreciation value is so steep for an 8. I was considering doing some common mods and I know the money I put into the car would strictly be for my own personal enjoyment and not to increase the resale value of the car...which is fine by me.

so I guess I am also asking, does anyone regret purchasing any of the mods they have done to their 8?

Forever, unless something happens to it and forces me to get rid of it. *knock on wood*

This is a car that I developed a relationship with and will put up with whatever it's going to throw at me .

FOREVER and eventually a 3 rotor swap preferably with a TOP MOUNT INTERCOOLER and VENTED hood, similar to the BERGENHOLTZ BROs. Keep it sleeper status so no one knows it's turbo'd.

Ill take it to the grave with me. You know, drive into the OCEAN when no one is looking . If they ever do find it... they'll read the plates that state. ZUMNRX8.... GOING DOWN IN THE HISTORY BOOKS

I want to keep mine forever, but rolled over to 38k tonight (12k in 10 months). I'm driving it too much to keep any type of resale, if I don't get a beater/DD by this time next year it might have to go. In the unfortunate event of engine failure, I would hope I have enough cash for a LSX engine swap

if all goes to plan, i'll keep this car as my project/track car.. so as long as there's room in my garage, my 8 will stay with me.

... until the 16x comes out- upon which, if it is badass, then the 8 might be going bye bye...

I'll keep it till I get bored of it. I planned on keeping my truck ('04 Dodge Ram Rumblebee) till the wheels fell off. Didn't happen, I had it for 6 years and when I had finally done everything I wanted to it, it took a little more than a year, and I got bored with it.

Well this is my second one. My 04 I got rid of and replaced with an 07 WRX Sti. Now I'm back with the r3. I learned my lesson, this one I'm keeping forever. If/when the engine dies, it will be refurbished/replaced, as will anything else that goes. I'm not saying that I won't get another car, but I'm never selling this RX-8.

Guess I'm in the same boat as everybody else here. I'm driving Beel " Thats my 8's name btw " till the motor dies, at which point there will a motor swap, rinse and repeat

I just got mine in may and only drove it for 5,500 miles in little less then 2 months and now its been sitting in a ware house waiting for my return in april. But Ive planed on keeping her forever and turning her in to a track car when the time comes for a new engine.
