My engine flooded yesterday for the second time this season. This happened because I had to move my car in the driveway. Usually revving it up will avoid the problem but it didn't this time.
Anyhoo, I'm posting because I recorded a couple videos of it. One of the first attempt after running the starter with the injector fuse pulled, and another on the successful attempt. The car sounds terrible in the second video until it finally smooths out at the end.
Car starts and dies after a few seconds.

Car starts and sounds terrible as I rev to keep it alive.

Might want to consider taking a look at your spark plugs.

least you got it running again on your own. Shouldn't rev so quick on and off, just keep a constant pressure on the gas around 3-5rpm, after a bit you will be able to take your foot off the gas and it will smooth its self out.

Why is that?
Kafka, I don't hold it 10 seconds. I just rev it up to 4k and turn it off.

could be a weakening battery. Our cars... (Kafka, QTWRE, myself) are all 2007 MY's... I think QTWRE bought his in spring 2007. I bought mine fall 2007, and Kafka bought his spring 2008... I guess I'm next in line for a flooded engine hahahaha.....
I drive daily, and this car definitely needs to be driven often to keep carbon deposits clear... my car starts in the winter fine, but I notice it cranks a little longer now in the cold... I'm at 57,000 km as of writing.

Thanks for reminding me... As an update post-flood, my starter now cranks scary fast. Maybe twice as fast as it did before. It's like an angry little wolverine.

No, I didn't change the battery. Must be magic. Maybe all the cranking worked the carbon out of the starter. :P
lol
