O well, I don't even have my car yet. If I did have my 8.. would they let you drive that out there or would you have to drive one of their protege's or something? SCiMMiA 01-17-2004, 12:29 PM You get to drive a Mazda3. 8_wannabe 01-17-2004, 12:38 PM Thanks for the tip. I signed up in San Diego for March 20th, group 9. zoom44 01-17-2004, 12:41 PM again nothing in portland, oregon. we have a really nice track here too. dammit. i missed the final one at laguna seca last year by one day. i was on vacation and stopped at the track. the course was still there so i ran my 8 thru it. not the same tho since the wife was inthe car. English 01-17-2004, 12:51 PM That looks like a good time...hope it's not too crowded. SCiMMiA 01-17-2004, 01:12 PM I'm in - Atlanta. Can't wait. 8_wannabe 01-17-2004, 02:25 PM Originally posted by zoom44 again nothing in portland, oregon. we have a really nice track here too. Ours isn't even at a track, it's in the stadium parking lot where the chargers play. Bummer that you don't get one up there... SCiMMiA 01-17-2004, 05:09 PM So, from those of you who've done it before: Is it really as fun as it sounds? Did you learn anything from the clinics? How fast did you get on the track in competition? Do you do an entire lap? What car did they use last year? Thanks for the info. eccles 01-17-2004, 11:19 PM Originally posted by SCiMMiA So, from those of you who've done it before: Is it really as fun as it sounds? Did you learn anything from the clinics? I didn't, but I have many years of motorsport experience. I think the average Joe would probably gain something. It's a tight autocross course. Maximum speed was probably around 40mph, though it'll still get the adrenaline going. Yes, each run is a "lap" of their autocross course. They don't use actual racetracks. Last year they used slightly modified 6-cylinder Mazda 6's You're welcome. :) [/list=1] SCiMMiA 01-21-2004, 10:32 PM bump Gyro 01-21-2004, 10:47 PM Originally posted by eccles Last year they used slightly modified 6-cylinder Mazda 6's Here are the cars from last year... Speed Racer 01-21-2004, 11:10 PM Hey Gyro, Are you going to the event in Boston this year? my10ae and I have both signed up for the 5/22 event in Group 7 (9am). serff 01-23-2004, 11:20 AM Why can't they bring things like these to Colorado?!?! Lexus does one too and they never come here either. It sucks... eccles 01-25-2004, 01:12 AM Well, the Dallas Pro Solo has been moved to Topeka, so I've registered for the Sunday in Houston. I'll try to stay away from the cones this year. (I beat the expert's index time last year, but tagged a cone which cost me a trip to Laguna Seca.) LOL, I remember that Eccles! You cut the fastest lap. Time for payback. This year the cars are Mazda3's. If you can't borrow one go for a few test drives before the event. |
