Oh that sucks. A coworker of mine dropped his in the sink. He had Apple repair it under warranty and then sold it online so he could get the 3GS. Do you have Apple Care?

I wish I didn't have a contract with AT&T right now. I'd drop my iPhone in the toilet and go buy a Droid. After years with Verizon, AT&T is a joke. Their "world's fastest network" isn't as large as Verizon's coverage area and to this day there are still many places where my Verizon phone worked better than anyone else's. Unfortunately I bought mine in September and am locked in for a while. If I'd have waited a few months longer, I'd be happier today. I'm actually convinced that my issues aren't with the phone itself although it has had to be wiped clean and reset and had updates to fix some bugs. I don't see Mac mentioning those things on the Mac vs PC commercials. This is a Mac. I think the service just sucks.

I also don't like how absolutely expensive this thing is to fix. A new battery which probably costs $.30 costs us over $70 since the unit has to be opened. Same with their laptops. Overly expensive and incompatible with anything useful and expensive to fix yet people want them. Gotta love marketing! A new screen for this phone is over $80 as well.

Lots of cool apps but terrible coverage area from the nations worst carrier. I'm starting to rethink not dropping it into the toilet.

Then why is it I've been there on my blackberry curve with AT&T last year and I got full bars everywhere I went throughout downtown, chinatown, fishermans warf, uptown, oakland, etc etc.

A jailbroken iphone can do anything the droid can. That being said I hate ATT and can't wait to go back to Verizon.

I've personally never had any issues with my iphone/at&t service. The only time I have problems getting a signal is in places that just generally have weaker signals (interior of some buildings etc).

Dude, toss it in the center console of the 8, take her for a spin.

It may or may not fix the phone but I guarantee you will feel better.

P.S. Verizon FTW, and IMHO, the only thing worse than Apple, is AT&T.

There is an app for that, but you have to remember to install the app first :headbang:

the "luck" continues. i usually telecommute for work on tuesdays but since I have no phone where I can be reached I am supposed to be heading into office. well I cant because lastnight when locking up the garage I left my house/garage key in the center console of my car (same key for both doors). didn't need it for the house because g/f was already home so didn't notice until this morning when getting ready to take off for work. had to use a day of leave.... Maybe the issues are with the phone and not the service however that article isn't exactly something I trust. Here's a direct quote showing why.

Of course they are going to give their client a higher rating! My Verizon phones could get a signal in places that most other carriers barely could and that had nothing to do with the iphone. I had switched to Sprint once and went right back under my cancellation time allotment. I knew leaving Verizon for an iphone meant that I was gaining features at the expense of service reliability and I was right. AT&T sucks. When my contract runs out, which is unfortunately a long time from now, I'm going back.
