The car and the scenery are beautiful! I love driving in the southwest - long, lonely stretches of road, and great views. Your black RX-8 must be rare in your area. I remember a few years ago I was in Arizona with a black Acura, and almost all the other cars were white.

I took a quick trip to the lake to check on the boat. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. So what if the last 15 miles are the most awsome twisty roads you have ever seen :)

Your pics are fantastic! About to do the move-to-the-other-side-of-the-country drive myself and had thought of doing the picturebook storyboard thing of the trip. See, now I've got to come up with good stuff, beacuse those were some great shots, S_D! :)

S3, I'd love to see someone do a storyboard / timeline with pictures for a long drive. Definately do it!!!

Well, the last time the wife and I transferred out here from the east coast we were on a bit of a time crunch and didn't get much time to take in any sights along the way. This time I've got a ton of leave to take and we'd like to stop and see things as we drive instead of going hell-bent-for-leather. We'll have the camera and plan to take pics as we go along. :)

Great pics guys.

One of the VW forums ClubB5.com (http://www.clubb5.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=65406&highlight=calender+calendar) puts out a calender every year with pics of members rides featured every month. These pics are taken by various members and then it is voted on to select the ones for the calender. It is a printed calender that is on sale to members .

I think with all these great rides we should look into doing something like this. What do you say zoomers!

Rotary Nut,

That sounds like a cool idea.....very cool indeed. Now we just need someone to organize it. I'm too busy driving to do it. hehe

And the buildings moved, the sunset reflection in the body is brighter & flared, etc. The eight is a great subject to play with in photoshop.

Nice pics SD.

My powers of perception defy the obvious. I didn't even notice the building moved....sheesh. The flare you added looks like it was just washed and polished. glad you liked the picture. Keep playing with pics and show us more.

Very nice, guys!!! :D

I remember a few years ago I was in Arizona with a black Acura, and almost all the other cars were white. In Phoenix lean against a black car in August and you'll understand. An easy first-degree burn.

I love the area and make the pilgrimage to the Barrett-Jackson Auction annually. Mesa and Tempe have nice 'burbs(nothing like Scottsdale of course). If it only wasnt so damn hot for 6 months and their looming water shortage/drought.

Sanguine_Dark

Toadman,

Anyone who leans against a black car in August (in Phoenix) gets what they have coming to them. Anyone who goes outside in August in Phoenix gets what they have coming to them. When the air temp in the shade is 120 and the asphalt is around 155+ you know it's time to drive somewhere cooler whenever you get the chance!!!

I live in the southeast 'burbs' down in chandler. Way less pricey than scottsdale and far fewer photo radars :D
