I have an '05 model year that was actually bought in Feb '06. There are little to no differences between the 05 and 06 model year cars, which is actually why I bought mine (they only had 1 white on the lot). Anyway, here's my CL listing from a few days ago. Crappy iPhone pics for now, but I'll send you better ones if you're interested. Listed for $14,500 but I'm willing to negotiate if it means selling faster.

Can someone verify this? I'm a bit of a rx8 noob. I come from hondas. I've read on the forums that the 06 was the one to get because if the engine changes. What is the 4 port vrs the 6 port about? If it's for auto trans only, then Its a non issue. Is the Pcv value redesign all that important? Not quite important to me cause it's only a check valve...

I would start reconsidering 05's again.

TIA

I don't know about the differences between the engines or what not but I do have my 2006 Sunlight Silver RX-8 with manual transmission for sale.

The price is negotiable. If you want to check it out here is the link.

White Shinka? Aren't Shinka's only copper red and black cherry?

ummm technically yess... but they ofter a shinka as a package on 2006's and one of the colours is white, i have one, its got the shinka interior etc. only difference from what I understand is it doesn't have the unique copper red/ black cherry paint. but white is better IMO ;)

As far as I remember, no differences mechanically between mid/late '05 and '06 (and anything prior should have been updated through recalls, tsb's as far as software updates, plugs, battery, and maybe starter, etc) as far as 6sp manual North American RX-8's. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. My mid '05 only needed a fuel tank thermal shield added through a recall to bring it up to '06 spec. All manual 8's sold in North America are 6 port. Not sure when Shinka models were available though. If you were shopping for auto, then an '06 and up would be the one to get due to significant changes but that's for the auto only.

I've read somewhere that the coilpacks were changed in 06 as well. Can the 05 coils be upgraded to the newer ones? Then I can change it myself.
